Love how the red turned out @Mrj! And the green stretch.

Need help deciding. Blue or Black for the stretch?

After 40 years of too many black knives, I would never purposely dye one black, but that's just me.

For yellow knives, I like a dark green or a fade to red. Or like Ladybug says, yellow.

Edited to say blue is nice, too. I just wouldn't pick it over red fade or green. Or rasta, for that matter.

Alright, I tried the yellow. For a day🥴. I actually prefer and like the Seki yellow to the Golden yellow. Golden, Colorado that is. But I don't spend enough time on the water to justify the color. I know I will carry a more subdued color more often.

So I just went with the Blue on my Salt 2.

The blue looks fantastic. If I ever get around to dying something I want a similar color, almost denim blue. I've wanted that color for years, but I like anything better than plain old black. I like the Seki yellow too though, and that has helped stop me.

I used minwax woodstain on my Crucarta, not a great result, but I knew the frogtape was not going to keep a clean sharp edge from the stain leeching.

I don’t know how I missed this but that looks awesome! I actually think the stain leaching looks better than having clean sharp edges. It gives it a feeling of natural authenticity, so to speak. It looks just like real world snake pattern. Nicely done!

I like that! Dark in the pocket and doesn't stand out, yet maintains the high visibility for work!

Thank you. That was exactly my idea of doing it that way. The green has grown on me for the visibility when out and about in nature. Just didn't want a green handle sticking out of my pocket.

Thanks Mushroom, I been carrying it everyday now for a week or two. Really like the steel Cruwear about this knife also. It sharpens really quick as compared to the S110V...

I recently tried to dye another new M2 I bought that sports blue frn scales and the SPY27 steel and found that the frn didn't take the dye so well.

Was going for just simply black and after two attempts, each time longer than before; settled on a dark blue.

So I am of the assumption that the G10 and Micarta dye much easier than the frn, but not had any more time to mess with it.

The G10 on my Police4 with blue scales took the black dye really great.

The Micarta took the Minwax stain really well too. If you frogtape the scales and want the little bit of leeching under the edges of the tape just dab extra stain in the area and allow it to puddle.

Then dab it dry with a paper towel before you flip to do the other side and/or remove the tape.
