- For one, no one is forced to read what they do not want to read (once again), right?
- Then I think the vast majority of folks frequenting this forum do not even nearly read each and every post anyway, so for most there might not be a repetition
- Those who do choose to read several times about people really sharing their joy about a Spyderco but do NOT like that: Well, I don´t think the problem here is on the side of those who chat about their positive impressions...
- I don´t think that Sal would say it is a detriment or negative for "his" forum when people repeatedly talk about how good a Spyderco product really is...
- Lastly, in a way it is valid info if people see that a certain model is still and always liked even after some use and after the "honeymoon phase" is over. If I for example would not have a Chap SE yet, but realize that folks like you or @JoviAl appreciate it still after some real use and testing, this would offer a real, solid pro - "data point" for me when thinking about trying one myself...

I feel ya @JoviAl I never thought there would be a model that would get more pocket time than my Dfly SE Salt but here we are…it’s not like I don’t carry other knives but I find myself automatically reaching for the Chap SE without even thinking about itJoviAl wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 1:28 amJust took a moment out from fixing up my son’s mini bike to read the forum notification I got from your post Gernot. In all honesty I literally don’t bother carrying any other knife at home anymore unless I have a need of a particular blade shape. I sincerely hope Sal et al deem fit to make some other permutations of it in SE, otherwise I’m not going to be buying many knives in future. Well, for myself at least.

My favorite. Too bad the demand wasn’t there to justify new molds.

Yojumbo with custom stonewashed blade.

My wife and I are both super sick so we're hanging out at home this weekend so if course I'm tinkering.
We have 2 cats and they love these corrugated scratchers, but they get to a point where they start shredding and getting pieces of paper everywhere so we replace them. I was throwing this one away when it occurred to me that it's a whole brick of corrugated that I can cut so so I decided to make a mess in my living room for science.
I had my SE Chap with me (this knife is the best PJ pants knife ever) and my Bodacious was on my desk so they both got put to the test. But it turned out to not be even a challenge for either knife, and I even cut through it at 90 degrees thinking it would be harder. Unfortunately I wasn't able to cut across the flutes though because that would be lengthwise and that would have been way harder. Both these knives plowed through this with low effort, but both also have extremely good edge/blade geometry.

Shredded a TON of cardboard and the edge is still going strong. Fast becoming my favorite knife. @sal thank you for not putting sharpening choils on your knives. Those bind up so much when cutting things.
