Make a Free Copy of a Key Using a Swiss Army Knife

Very clever idea. But that can looked REALLY soft,
especially when he removed the lid. TBH, I have doubts that my SAK scissors can snip a can lid like that; maybe there are can lids that soft in some countries, I don't know. I've had Victorinox SAK scissor springs break from using them a little too hard on materials that were better left for other tools. Maybe a cheap pair of non-spring craft scissors would work better for that.

Secret Functions of the Corkscrew in the Swiss Army Knife

I like the SAK corkscrew a lot. I actually use it for a variety of purposes, and have found that it has far more versatility than the back-opening Phillips screwdriver. That's why I prefer the SAK Spartan over the Tinker.

This was one of only 2 SAK I have ever owned. I grew up carrying a dedicated multitool in addition to a single blade locking hunter (still own them) Camillus or Old Timer. The I discovered the sacking needle and had to jump on one when I saw it. Little did I know how rare the sacking needle toll was among Vic knives. Unfortunately most of the time it shows up on a SwissBianco that is priced at several hundred dollars over my budget.

I find the needle handy when camping for use with paracord. I picked this Victorinox Pioneer Rancher up on eBay years ago for a terrific deal of under $30, BNIB. Not long after I discovered the limited run that I had come to love and they are really difficult to find on the secondary market now.

Wow, that was a score of a lifetime!

I love the alox versions. My go to is still the humble Pioneer.

DigiCamo version of the Malaysian Army Knife, with black oxide coated blade & scale tools. Based on the Victorinox Outrider with Philips screwdriver in place of the corkscrew.

Nice one!

They are getting hard to find new... I ended up buying the last three at a small knife shop in Tasmania in Feb 2024. I really just needed one, but what the heck... At the time I could not find any other new stock locally. I have not seen new stock around since then.

I found a pair of black 74mm scales, and made that one a user.

This is originally a Fieldmaster on which I added Daily Custom scales and a custom bead by Beadfabrik. The slip if my first leather "project" on which I heated a brass Spydie bead and pressed it on the leather. Let's say i'm still learning 😂

Was thinking about making slips for my Chaps somewhere in the future.

My old Victorinox Spartan. Every now & then I give the scales a rub down/polish with Brasso. Works wonders at removing the fine scratches & blemishes :smlling-eyes
