Cruise should at least allow a pacific salt or something. You are on the ocean after all

Thinking this little guy might tag along on some fishing trips this springβ¦and a big shout out to my nephew Harryo for tying the woolly bugger, definitely an advantage having an Orvis employee in the family

Thanks Salty . Cut down two big Crabapples this week and have one to go . All big stuff is stacked and will finish burning today or tomorrow. Lucky I have access to pallets to create a base for fire . Dan

This is a knife that I havenβt carried in a long time. It has been sitting in the center console of my little SUV. I have decided that it deserves better.

Thank you! And yes, I did - or moreso it's a perpetual work in progress. I'm pretty happy with where the secondary bevel/edge is at, but thinning the flats has taken forever.
I use diamond plates freehand and just do a bit at a time whenever I sharpen which is far from the most efficient method, but I learned to sharpen from Murray Carter videos so thinning out the flats gradually like this is a force of habit. With something like simple carbon steels it's easier, but it took probably 2 hours just to establish a uniform scratch pattern here with a 140 grit plate. I doubt I'll ever be done with it haha.
