So my local retailer just received the 3 variants of the Stretch 2 XL today. I reeeeeally don't need any more knives right now, but there's a decent chance this thing could work out perfectly for me.

I think I'll go combo-edge on this one..

I was on the fence but to be honest, I love the XL . I’m good with the steel and looking forward to more variations. I think you will like how it fits in hand . MG2

What are the torx sizes on the Stretch 2 XL...looks like T5 for the pivot screw and T3 for the clip and other screws. Am I correct?

I did, sold my plain edge to a buddy... the blade on one side towards tip basically wasn't ground/sharpened. I have yet to fix that up but it won't take long.

isn't it usually chisel ground all the way to the tip on a combo blade?

No sir, the only chisel ground portion is on the serrations. The plain edge part is a V grind just like a normal plain edge knife. Someone didn’t have their coffee that morning I guess. You can sorta see it just at the tip in the picture

oh wow. i see that now that you point it out. that's shouldn't have made it through qc. no spyderco knife is cheap enough to justify that kind of issue. i've bought plenty of $30 knives and never seen anything like that.

For $112 I agree, it shouldn’t happen to any of them. However, for those of us with lots of sharpening tools it’s not worth the time or the shipping when I can fix it extremely fast with the blade grinding attachment on the work sharp. I love that thing.

What a strange phenomenon! Glad to hear it'll be an easy fix for you. What are your thoughts on how the knife has performed so far (if you've put it to use)? Is it an Endura-killer?

I haven’t used this particular version, but I loved the plain edge and yes, for me I like the blade shape and handle better than the endura
