I have this knife for a few days now, mostly used to cut fruits, so no real work so far. The stonewash only allows the patina to be seen from certain angles and in diffuse light, no multicolor patina, only very shinny yellow-gray, but I like it. Haven't washed the knife after use so far except a warm water rinse and wipe.

As for its stain resistance, seems to be better than m4 but worse than 10v, so it definitely doesn't stain from a fingerprint as some said. Maybe if you dipped your wet finger in salt first lol.

With all the non stainless bladesteels out there at the moment, let’s get this thread going again!

Now that is one nice little piece you got there!

Thanks Jon and Barry! :) You gotta love that Superblue edge!

Hey Jon, Selrahc's cool pic prompted me to ask you for some progress shots of your 52100 posse! I bet they've got some nice patina by now. ;)

Sweet shot of your Maxamet Manix, Emanuel. Yeah it gets a strange patina. My Para 3 just gets a kind of blue mist, which wipes away to a greyish tool steel look.

Oh man, I wish I was smart enough to figure out the whole pic hosting thing but I just can't, I'd probably have to just send you a pic. But yeah, I've got a GREAT one going on my PM2, and minor use patinas on my Para3 and one of my Millie's

My M4 PM2 also has some use stain going on, but obviously it's not as profound as 52100. And I'm trying to keep my Police4 clean, just because I kinda like it that way, but I have seen your P4 blade and it looks great with that nice gray!

No worries Jon. Yeah I definitely want to see your 52100 knives now!

I think Vivi has a good ‘how to’ thread on image hosting and posting linked in his sig line.

But feel free to click on my user profile and email me pics as well, and I’ll be happy to post ‘em for you. :)

Thanks for the kind comment on the Police 4, I hope you’re enjoying yours as much as I like mine. It sounds like we have similar tastes in steels. ;)

Most of my basic “workin’ knives” are HAP40, but funnily enough, the ones I use most - the Dragonfly and Wharny Delica barely show any patina.

My Endura has a bit more of a ‘tan line’ :D :

All your experiments intrigued me, so tonight I played with a chunk of Maxamet.
I'll probably just leave it like this, use the knife, and see what happens.

Thanks for the pics! (We chatted about the Patina of this knife in the "what Spyderco is in your pocket" - thread)

Looks very cool! And is very unique and has a "surprise"-effect, since on a HAP40 / SUS410 blade one would expect a Patina only on the former steel...

Thanks Barry! I'm liking it so far as well. I actually took a majority of the first patina off with some Flitz and was able to get this one from cutting up some steak, mushrooms and asparagus. Instead of Super Blue, it should be Super Fun hahaha. I'm having fun with it, and pretty much able to start from a clean canvas if you want to.

The blue honestly doesn't really look THAT blue. Must be the lighting or angle of the pic

Thanks guys! Really digging this Super Blue. I wish it were common besides on sprint runs. It definitely gets crazy sharp with ease as well, one of the easier steels to work with imo.
