Etching solution, gloves, nail polish and remover it's easy to do just strip the knife paint any parts you don't want etched (pivot, ball detent and where the lock contacts and the cutting edge) then put the blade in the solution until you get the finish as dark as you want, works much faster if the solution is warm my manix took a few minutes the para 2 took atleast 15-20 mins as I left the solution outside and it was just above freezing! Rinse the blade off and pop it it a pot of water and bicarbonate of soda to stop the acid reacting with the steel, wipe the nail polish off reassemble and job done!
