Just received and moded an old friend of yours. Now I want to see what's capable of.
Congrats!
Can´t wait for your thoughts on the Salt 2 SE!!
But keep in mind: For me it is not the best overall performer I own, not even a Spydie that really "speaks" to me.
- WHAT the Salt 2 ffg Se is for me: Just outstanding and unmatched
by concept in its "capability to weight/footprint" ratio.
- Perfectly optimized to be the best just in case "separator" when one actually want to carry almost nothing.
Before it even came out I started this thread
viewtopic.php?t=88925#p1496689 discussing that for me the Salt 2 ffg SE could easily be the best ultralight hiking knife (and perhaps should be more marketed as (also) just this), clearly beating the BM Bugout (they have pretty much the same weight) in that role.
For me this has proven itself to be true, as far as I can tell without actually having a Bugout

I'm surprised at how much excitement there was around here for the drop of this knife, but I've barely seen or heard a peep about it since.
I’m affraid, but thats the way it goes for years around here. Huge excitment when released, quick sold out and then nothing. Most stay hidden in collections , some are sold for profit and only few you can see being used.
Thanks for being the one who use his knives.

Knocked the dust off this one and put a new edge on it last night. The one thing I've really missed after carrying SE for so long is the steel and model variety in all my PE collection. So many of these PE I've been digging out lately would be amazing with serrations.

Of these I have carried over the past couple weeks, the k390 dragonfly is becoming the one I choose most frequently. It is with me today.

For me unchallenged as perfect "normal use" EDC folder for quite a while now - certainly one of Sals greatest designs imo.

This is like the one knife that might make me break my resolution of not buying LW models….and I don’t even know what model it is. Stretch2 xl LW?

Bingo!!
But keep in mind: It is a real lightweight even among the lightweights...

- no liners, weighs less than lets say a much smaller Sage 5 LW, less than a Manx 2 LW and much less than a G10 Para 3.
No Spydie I own FEELS lighter (though some actually are, but not in relation to their footprint)

And just in case you should not be aware of that: You can have it with liners and G10 too - in Cruwear, but "just" in PE.

Yeah that is one hella expensive knife. Maybe one day. I also don’t like the issue of the blade hitting the lanyard tube, it’s completely unacceptable for a knife at that price point.
