Wow. This whole thing is a big ouch. I was waiting patiently for over a year for this re-release. I sold my Yojimbo sprint to fund the purchase. Stayed up until 6 am to buy one. Waited an hour and 15 minutes for server to come up but I literally could not stay awake; 11 more minutes would have got me there. And now they are gone

For the love of Pete NO...lol. Another run of these would just take away from any other model that needs an exclusive run. A new CQI M390 Military, a G10 Native, a Manix XL, Manix Backlock, SE Dodo, etc. PM2s and Para 3s have been done to death. Other models will sell out just as fast for dealers like DLT and BHQ. And if other dealers would work on their hype game they could sell out their exclusives just as fast. DLT and BHQ do the best job of creating a social media fever pitch.

Remember the outcry back when the BladeHQ Exclusive Shaman was dropped? There was a lot of complaining about the "flippers" who bought 3, 4, 5 knives or more just to sell on the secondary market. It turned out that 90% or so of those sales were people who only bought 1.

And since when has buying something to sell for a profit been a crime?

With limited quantity items, there will ALWAYS be people who missed out. Period. Even if every single person just bought one to use, there will still be plenty of people who didn't get one. That is life. It's just the way things are, and you can't change it.

What the secondary market does, is ensure that those knives will still be available even after the dealer is long sold out. Think about it. If every person bought just one knife, to use, the poor people who missed out initially would never be able to get one. Those who wish to outlaw ebay knife flippers are actually doing a disservice to the people who missed out, by denying them a second chance at buying the knife they wanted.

I maintain that having a knife available at a $60 markup, is better than not having any knife available at all.

Just my controversial $0.02.

Yes, very well said! And let that be the end of it! Ha.. not likely, unfortunately. It's just about every "collection based" forum's most favorite thing to complain about, and it doesn't ever change anything. With how many sprints are released (not to mention the re-stocking we have been seeing from some dealers) you would think people could get over it, and look forward to the next release. One thing I do when I miss an exclusive, is buy two of the next hot knife and offer one as trade for the knife I missed.
We need to see things how they are, and not let ourselves get so hyped. This is all just my opinion of course.

Wow, ordered Wednesday after a chaotic launch, and still arrived Friday before 9am - nice work DLT!! Man, this is a gorgeous piece, and I just love the compression lock on these. And it sure doesn't hurt that it matches my favorite Chacos. :p
