during my last military posting in Arizona we bought two VW's that we still own.
I drive a '99 VW Passat station wagon 1.8L Turbo. My wife drives a '99 VW Golf cabrio 2.0L that she loves dearly.
For down town and work we both have a bicycle that we use almost daily.

Clipits work!

1982 ford bronco. electric blue. stock height, stock tire size though i am running some dueler AT's. remanufactured starter, high performance, high output racing water pump, and my driveline is out of a 1985 bronco(the original met an untimely end. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>) i'd really like to get my hands on a diesel pickup because i can get diesel "really cheap" but that will have to wait till i can save up some money.

'03 ford focus zx3, silver, 16" wheels, marcy motorsport CAI, duratec23e engine. My car was Walter Marcy's dyno test car for the intake, http://www.marcymotorsport.com/html/par ... r_fuel.htm is the info on the aprt and my car. Once I graduate from college this car will be fully overhauled. Cosworth racing, the famous racing company that does a lot of work on rally cars and formula 1 cars, has a kit coming out that will add 100hp. From my talks with Walter it looks like these cars will see close to 300hp naturally aspirated on pump gas. My goal is to have a fun everyday driver that I can also run hard on the track. I want to start going to buttonwillow and laguna seca on track days this summer. www.focuschallenge.com is an awesome website about racing these cars on the track.

"1989 Shelby Dakota. Red with 318 cid throttle-body injected V-8 and 51K miles on her.

1986 Shelby GLHS in the garage

Java, did you ever hear what it was that Carroll Shelby said was meant by "GLH" and "GLHS"? Someone asked him at the introduction of the first one and then at the intro of the second and his response was "Goes Like ****!" and then "Goes Like ****, Summore!" Shelby was and still is one of the great characters in the automobile business, totally irrepressible.

Oh, and BTW, we have a 1998 Dodge Caravan with some 69,000 on it and I hope to double that, at least. Wealso have a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS which is, far and away, the nicest car that I have ever owned, and that includes various SAABs of different vintages and a Triumph TR-4 that I owned in college. It was fun, but a pain in the butt to keep on the road. That Focus handles better than any of them and it drives more comfortably than any. Its ride may be a bit sharper than the ride on the Caravan, but I intend to do something about that Caravan's ride soon, such as heavier shock absorbers and a heavier anti-sway bar, as the car is a bit too soft for decent handling. It does tend to wallow a bit more than it should, even given its weight and higher center of gravity/roll center.

Couldn't resist while, being a newbie on this forum, browsing the threads. OK, you want a classy car...?

Meet Emeralda!

And her profile...

Pics are on the site of my mechanic; who is a total nut regarding these cars, he owns five of them. Great guy.

Enjoy - I know I do! ;-)

<b>FullerH</b>,

Only another Shelby fan would know that. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I have a buddy who tricked his GLH out with a modified 2.2 Turbo II engine to the tune of 500 hp. Blows everything off the track and leaves the Fast and Furious crowd Last and Curious every Saturday night. Road and Track pitted the GLHS against the original GT350 Shelby Mustang in April '86 and the "Econo-box from ****" toasted the 'Stang by a full second in the standing quarter. (Upset a host of GT owners in the process - but hey, it's all about power to weight ratios. I've run in the mid 13s with her - almost as quick as our old Jensen Interceptor. The GLHS claims the lowest Shelby production numbers with only 500 made. Carroll Selby is is an American icon and generous to a fault. Check out the Shelby American web site but wear a bib to control the liquids - the Series One is like Pavlov ringing the dinner bell.

Good to see ya about, lad! Cool choice in automotive finery. The Minis have a enjoyed a fearsome record in Autocross (Just like the GLHS!)

Stay safe! Stay sharp!
