Something as common as "lock stick" on a compression model, you'd think there would be a primary cause identified by now, I've been hearing about this issue for years and years.

So nobody has identified any specific treatment (light polishing/sanding/etc) that resolves the problem?

Does sending it in to be serviced not always fix the issue? I could see hesitation on someone's part if they were overseas and shipping is cost prohibitive, especially if there is no guarantee that servicing will resolve things.

Also, do we know in what % of cases simply using the knife and "breaking it in" will eventually resolve the issue?

Although I sort of prefer backlocks and also like the CBbL a lot, I have about 10 compression lock knives, mostly Golden, but one Taichung and three Seki City. None of them had lock stick of any consequence, and those that did lost that with break-in.

I think for many cases, using the knife will resolve the issue in time. Even fidgeting with it can help break it in.

The minor dissatisfaction I have with some examples of comp lock knives is a light detent. I prefer a crisper detent and better blade retention. I have thought of but never actually increased the depth of the detent hole on a couple of mine. Not sure it bothers me enough that I ever will.
