Something as common as "lock stick" on a compression model, you'd think there would be a primary cause identified by now, I've been hearing about this issue for years and years.
So nobody has identified any specific treatment (light polishing/sanding/etc) that resolves the problem?
Does sending it in to be serviced not always fix the issue? I could see hesitation on someone's part if they were overseas and shipping is cost prohibitive, especially if there is no guarantee that servicing will resolve things.
Also, do we know in what % of cases simply using the knife and "breaking it in" will eventually resolve the issue?
