Hi Marco,

I went through the thread and realized that the information about the model has been pretty much told on this thread. From Dennis LeMaire to the bee, to production in Japan, end. The maker of the model has long since passed away, and I haven't had contact with the Trading company for years so I don't know where that went. As to why the name switch on the blade, I don't know for sure. The owner of Ramco was driving the project and we sold it mostly to try to help him launch his brand. I would guess it was for the reason mentioned above to avoid confusion with the French made Laguiole, maybe even to avoid possible legal problems?

I'll tell you what I will do? I'll raffle one off.

Eric checked it out at the last Amsterdam meet, but sadly there's nothing Spyderco could do about it after all these years besides turning it in for store credit based on the original MSRP, but I get it... been out of production for a good while now.
