Rest easy Paul. Condolences to the family. You were a pillar and incredible source of knowledge during my time here.

It's cool to see so many old names here to pay their respects. I recognize most of the names who've posted.

What a bummer. While I don't spend nearly as much time on the forum as I used to, I had noticed Paul's less frequent posts the past few years. Paul was always happy to share his vast knowledge of Spyderco and was instrumental in helping me track down information for the Spydiewiki back when it was crowdsourced and I could contribute. I always enjoyed his posts and he was one of the mainstays of this forum back when I joined. He'll be missed.

My condolences to his family and friends. I never had the pleasure of interacting directly with him, but have many a time enjoyed reading his comments in posts from over the years.

RIP, Paul “The Deacon” Beretta. I had never interacted with him before but certainly enjoyed reading his posts.

Sending condolences to Paul's friends and loved ones.
When my older brother passed away, some of his Spyderco's were passed down to me. I began carrying on his collection tradition, and focused on C35 Qs because that was the first Spyderco my brother gave me as a Christmas present as a teenager. As I searched for knowledge on the Qs, I immediately discovered Paul and began engaging with him over the years. He was extremely knowledgeable, and kind, getting me up to speed answering all my questions and helping me connect with other Q collectors. He will be missed.

Paying respect to one of the most influential Spyderco collectors, not only of the knives, but the information and stories behind them. Used his site more than once to gain information on Spyderco when I was first starting into this hobby. His SPY-101 Articles really helped get into this collection addiction.

He was definitely one of the positively influential members in my early forum days, someone I trusted and respected, without having actually met or known. He will be missed here, but happy in his next phase. Peace.
