This was a no brianer. The Para 3 LW is a great platform. This will be my 9th. A great platform for comparing steels.
The base LW was my first Spyderco, so the model also has a special place in my heart.

The TKJ cruwear P3 LW lasted for a while at a little over $150 so it will be interesting to see how long this lasts seeing as it’s REC.
I'm not in the market for a LW Para 3 now, but that is the best buy going right now. Better steel than 204P, but that limited "avocado" buzz has people going.

I’m glad that there was a limit of 1 per customer, 1 is better than none. Thanks to REC for the great drop.

As an avowed Para 3 LW collector, I'm glad this release is done already. Sure will save the stress of fomo for future drops of this knife seeing as so far this is the only unique coating and colorway that is desirable for collectors. Definitely would be a sock drawer knife and I'm not even ashamed to admit it.

I have been hoping REC would do this combination. The PM2 variant was one of my favorite knives. Though I actually end up carrying my para 3 LWs more than any other knife. I just got a Magnacut Para 3 LW so it will be interesting to see which one wins out for more pocket time. The Para 3 LW just disappears in the pocket due to the size and weight and still has a decent 3 inch blade. And I love this color way. It is definitely a little overpriced but I couldn’t pass it up with a $10 rewards discount.

Thanks for the insight @WilliamMunny @nerdlock @Rival22
I do like the color combo and wanted to try out 204P as I have some 20CV that I enjoy carrying (lil native). Admittedly this is a little fancy for my taste but I rotate my knives a lot depending on activity and clothes so this will see mostly light use.

In all honesty, I don't see much difference in wear resistance among 204p and 20cv (or m390 for that matter), but its maybe because I have a lot of variants of each steel and I rotate each carry, so your mileage may vary...

The coating is fine to use guys, I've used my PM2 in the warehouse at work and got smudges and gunk all over it. Cleaned up as easily as DLC and didn't show any signs of wear afterwards.

What’s the best way to clean? Magic eraser, bar keepers friend?

I like to use Flitz, I've always had good luck with that stuff. But I'm sure the others would also work, only takes a light pressure wipe down/buffing and it's back to good as new.

Lots of folks use mineral oil on a magic eraser to clean this and DLC stuff. It works for sure.

Totally missed this one. I certainly didn't need it but I probably would've bought it had I logged in on time. Too much going on with work right now. I see I got an email from REC about it too but haven't had time to look at stuff like that

I used Flitz also on this particular pvd coating but found that it did dull the FDE a wee bit. Does it do that to yours also?
