Well I was true to my word …and sooner than I thought! - just had delivered a Jack Wolf I’ve had my eye on for a while in a sale. My First non-Spyderco folder in some time.
It’s The Midnight Jack - So far very impressed by the strong backspring which creates a very sturdy walk n talk, the machining of the titanium and the wonderfully well executed high-hollow grind S90v blade. Although you do get a fair bit of “fluff” with it, the presentation tin is a nice touch as is the pocket slip.
I do need to sell my titanium UKPK scales I pre-emptively bought for the Magnacut version to help offset the higher cost. - Although I got it on sale it’s still around double what a premium steel FRN UKPK would cost, but looks worth it so far.
Wow, the long anticipated.
My hope was to get it in time for summer vacation last year. I guess we wont see it in Europe for another good few weeks, so it won't be this summer either, but I think I can safely anticipate to bring it on my 2025 summer vacation
After reading more stories about tuning fork backsprings fails combined with a change in my slipjoint preferences, the desire for one has now past me by. I’m sure it will be popular though.

I'm not about to fully ditch the UKPK, but after waiting 1.5 years for the MC I'm just now seeing the S110V on sale and thinking, why do I really need this in MC?
Compared to LC200N sure, but I don't really know that I've ever considered it up against the S110V version.
Wait longer and pay more to get a tougher and slightly more corrosion resistant slip joint

I think these are going to show up on a lot of dealer websites using their old LC200n listings. So, I did a deep dive looking for Yellow PlainEdge UKPK's. I checked US and a few Canadian dealers, but other than that, I didn't check worldwide. Sorry. I came up with four sites. American Edge Knives American Dive Supply Country Knives

I believe these are the last Yellow LC200n UK Penknife being advertised. And I'm assuming any Yellow PlainEdge UKPK's that show up after now are going to be the long awaited MagnaCut UKPK's. But buyer beware, some dealers could still have new old stock on hand.
You are right. When I bought my native salts they were advertised as lc200n. But after they had been out of stock so long, then restocked, it was with magnacut. Just lazy I.T. Guys out there. Not saying this is the case but more than likely it is.

I've always looked at the s110v knives as the top tier "Salts" even if their hardware isnt Salt rated. It's great that Spyderco makes Salt knives that can take that level of abuse and neglect, but as an edc steel doing edc things s110v is rust proof. Smaller lighter duty knives like the UKPK are where more fragile high edge retention super steels shine the most anyway. I appreciate the better balance of Magnacut in the Manix LW, but for the UKPK, s110v is still the top steel for me.
I'm always greatful for all the steels offered by Spyderco and I'm certainly happy to see Magnacut permeating through the line up. The fact that Spyderco gives us everyday access to such a unique steel like s110v without it being a limited production sprint is one of the coolest and almost criminally underrated things they do.

I agree, S110V really shines in the UKPK. I often carry it IWB without a trace of corrosion, and the edge lasts seemingly forever with typical light use.
I was excited when the Magnacut version was announced, but the excitement has waned a bit... The S110V version does everything I ask of it, and mine is all fancy now with ti scales, so it will be harder to justify. The blue SPY-27 is also enticing...

I'm thinking that a PE Magnacut UKPK is one of the few knives I might buy, if I ever buy another knife again. I haven't bought a knife in years. The longer you go without buying any new knives, the less obsession or "need" you feel to acquire any more.
I’ve sold a few knives this year and my interest in purchasing more knives is down … however, this knife I’ve been interested in since it was announced and I still am.
With what is sounding like a drop out rate, hopefully they will be easy to find. Please post sellers when they arrive as you guys always find them way before I do. Thanks,
I will likely give the Maple Chaparral Slipit a go providing it’s not stupid expensive here in the U.K. and the Native slipit if that ever comes to fruition, but aside from that I’m done with Spyderco Slipjoints.

Now there was this rumor about that Alistair Phillips slipjoint. I'd keep the door open for that one.
If it becomes a thing, and the result closely resembles the custom that could be my end game as far as slippes go.

I’m good for UKPK’s for now - the HH G10/drop point is a hard act to follow and have zero interest in any of the other currently available slip joint models.
The New model sounds interesting though - I’d be happy to know more details if you have any?
It would be nice for this thread to evolve into something more compelling than a plastic-handled UKPK that’s late to the party.
I would love to see the ukpk done in a classy gents version. A stainless bolster similar to the kopa & the caly 3 Damascus cf sprint run, with the curve to the bolster, with contoured scales (stag, wood, micarta would be my favorites) and pins. But then again, ideally I’d want the caly 3 or calypso jr version of that cus I prefer a lock…
