It seems to me that the Sprint Run craze really got going about the time that those S90V Military models came out. Then after that there was a nice steady flow of great Sprint Runs ever since.

Some of you guys have really taken these Sprint Runs pretty seriously. I do hope that makes Sal & Co. realize how much we really like and appreciate these exotic Sprint Runs. And I do think the idea of these Sprint Runs has probably persuaded many of the newer Spyderco fans to get take their collecting hobbies a lot more seriously as many of you here have.

Actually it's turned out to be more difficult to rank many of these Sprint Runs than I originally thought. I do think that the C-60 Cruwear Ayoob will eventually end up in the top 5 or at least in the top 10>> but don't stop now guys.

I rarely buy the sprints and exclusives, but there is one that I have always kind of regretted missing. The frame lock m4 Military. I think it was a Knifeworks exclusive? That one came and went just before the time I was getting active on the forum. I would have enjoyed that one I think.

I love Sprint Runs. I find these re-issue, upgraded models one of the cooler aspects of being a Spyderco fan.

For probably the last 12 years the majority of my day to day EDC has been with:

-CPM-D2 Foliage Green Military Sprint
-G10 Black Ayoob Sprint
-Endura Super Blue Sprint
-Cruwear Ayoob SE Sprint

One of the cooler sprint runs from the past was the surprise Matriarch FFG sprint. As far as I recall, there had been no mention or build up about it. Then bam, a re-issue of the matriarch, with a massive upgrade by having it in a very fine FFG blade shape.

I rank this one as a success mostly due to its surprise factor, as well as that 'extra mile' blade upgrade.

My favorite Sprints are mostly older ones:
(In no particular order)
1. ZDP laminate Burgundy Jess Horn and Calypso Jr. runs. They were/are just so superb, and they should still be in production.
2. C67 "R" Reissues with solid blades but skeletonized handles. Oh so rare, and I have both PE and SE.
3. Blue Almite Walker. Man, that one is something special, for sure. It's so smooth and solid, and feels great in hand.
4. KnifeJoy Blue Dragonfly with Damascus/ VG-10. I liked it so much I got 2, one for me and one for my wife!

My favorite Sprints in order are:
1. CF S90V Shaman (Second most carried, but by far my favorite looks wise)
2. CF S90V Para 3 (Most carried, second favorite looks wise)
3. Cruwear Shaman
4. Z-Wear Shaman
5. Rex45 Shaman

Yes, I love my Shamans and carry one 80%+ at work. I usually carry a Para 3 outside of work unless I’m switching to a Sebenza or Spydiechef.

Most of my spydies are sprints/exclusives, and I especially love anything in M4, Rex 45 or K390.

Even though K390 is my favorite steel, if I had to pick just one knife it would be the PM2 Tanto in M4.

I recently spoke with a member of the community who’s a very cool dude who I respect the crap out of, who told me it’s too “mall ninja…” I’ve got to disagree.

The tip is beefier than a regular PM2, the tanto blade shape is incredible useful for scraping tasks as well as opening boxes, and they did an absolutely fantastic job of the hollow grind - the knife is simultaneously beefy AND slicey as ****.

Oh, and the slightly heavier blade makes the action absurdly satisfying if you’re into that. So it checks all my boxes as a fantastic user AND a great fidget toy.

I really hope BHQ keeps ordering more of them in other steels as well.

EDIT: if I limit myself strictly to sprints and not exclusives, I’ve gotta pick the orange p3lw in rex 45 because it combines a super EDC-able work carry with a blade material I’m not afraid to hand to a coworker or boss who might do horrifically abusive things to it.

Coming up, I’m really looking forward to the Manix in 15v as well as the BBB collab.

Two of the very first Spyders made with ZDP-189. I still have my Burgundy Caly jr with the ZDP-189 blade and I do take it out occasionally. But since I've gotten longer folders for my EDC duties I've long since retired some of my smaller Spyderco classics.

But I will admit that the Burgundy Caly Jr and the Burgundy Jess Horn models were two of the ZDP-189 classics. I'm sort of baffled why the Caly Jr. didn't become a permanent model. It sure has a huge following to this very day.
