That's quite the feat, congrats! What a cool way to go about collecting Spydercos. I knew they had used a lot of steels over the years, but I had no idea the list would be quite so large!
You'd better cross your fingers and hope that Spyderco doesn't release a 12" Damacore Chef knife at some point, lol!

I'd guess including all brands there are around 400 total knives and 270ish are Spydercos. I do plan on taking a picture of one of every steel soon.
Do you remember when you bought your first Spydie, and when you started collecting them all, steelwise?

Do you remember when you bought your first Spydie, and when you started collecting them all, steelwise?
First Spyderco knife was probably around 2009. I think the decision to collect all the steels probably happened about 8 months ago. I probably had somewhere in the 40-50 range, much like you, and then decided to try to find out how many different steels there really were. Somehow I decided it was within reach and started searching everywhere for what I needed.

If you want to expand your “steel” definition there are two more items. The Tak Fukuta ceramic folder and the ceramic dive probe. Both are real Spyderco models minus the hole. I have never seen the ceramic dive probe in person though I am fortunate enough to have two of the Tak Fukuta folders. The weird thing about the ceramic folders are the magnesium scales. I think Sal told me it was the first ceramic folding knife. Good job on the collection. spyderwa

Don't be too jealous... my handle does have a small crack in each side like most did and that's one knife that will never be a user for that reason. I still want a G10 one because I want to use it.

Good grief. It's hard enough to find a metal dive probe. I didn't even know there were ceramic knives... yet. Remember me if you ever want to get rid of one of the others though. I'll definitely keep my eyes out now that I know.

You have a good memory. We only did one run of the Tak Fukuta model. Hipped ceramic. I heard it was most popular for chopping Cocaine on mirrors. Rich Guys razor blades?
We never did a production run of Ceramic Probes. Only protos.

If you are going to count the non-Spyderco Tak Fukuta Ceramic, then the Solo Titan should be added to the list as well:

I don't think I'm going actively include the ceramic and titanium blades in my steel collection but I'd definitely be interested enough to grab one up if I ever get the chance and I'll probably add them to my steel list thread as an additional note at the bottom.
I do have the 440C variations.
Thanks for the heads up and the link. I've certainly got a handful of knives from that catalog but there are plenty I'm missing.

Yeah. I should have titled it caught up instead of finished but it should be way easier to stay caught up than to try to find the old rare stuff.
The money part certainly hurts but thankfully my job often pays me to waste time so it's not really a waste... unless I think about what I could do with my life if I wasn't a slave to a career and to money... but that's a different conversation.

Sal, Just to double check, since there is no marking telling the steel type, this it the KX05 with the AUS 8W, correct?
If so now I'm finally done with all the steels.
