If this mod is possible it would make it a much better user for me. I think it has a lot of knife edge that can rock on a cutting board.
I need to see you frontflipping that thang !

Ok, started the mod work. I have a lot more grinding to do. I can front flip it when I get past the “detent” but it will be easy to do once finished and removed all the required area. Removed the thumb stud but need a better bit to remove the material to make a bigger hole but surprisingly I can manipulate it with the existing tiny hole. Took about half of the Swede point off. I’ll spend a few hours on it tomorrow hopefully.

I'm strangely comfortable with it.

I am stupid excited to get the hole done so I can Spydie flick it. It can slow roll on the existing tiny hole but that will soon be addressed.
It can now slow roll front flip or with some wrist to pop it out.
The two finger, finger choil is excellent! It gives you so much more confidence, control and usability. My thumb can rest in the spine dip so the “jimping” actually becomes useful. It is also safer when you drop the blade on to your index finger to close so this is a big win. Taking out the swedge peak makes it for a more comfortable carry in the waistband which is my preferred carry. Also removing some of the hook at the butt makes it more comfortable as well. I feel these mods have greatly improved the “practicality”, usefulness, fun factor and safety so I call this a win.

Cold Steel the Company use to have big booth at Cross Roads SAR December Gunshot in Arizona at State Fair Grounds. They had video of their founder guy do the samurai thing on side of beef with his knives. Never thought much of product as to me it needed refinement, and som e detailed finishing.

Most was from place off shore not know for attention to detail, fit, or finish. JVMHO.

One of these in DLC M4 with Jade G10 handles would be pretty cool.

Mine showed up today. I was guessing it would be good based on the videos, and it didn't disappoint. Feels great in hand. Nicely balanced. Ergos are surprisingly good for such a big knife. It's well designed. The Atlas Lock will even flick open and closed like an Axis Lock, but it's not for the faint hearted.

Was going to toss it in the center console of my car, but I think I'll leave it by the front door for short walks. Carries well in a back pocket.
(We don't get to carry guns around here, but knives are OK.)

It’s definitely fun and once you train with it a bit and get used to it, somehow your other knives that some consider huge are just average now lol. The Yojumbo just seems like there could be a bigger one and I would be happy with it. 5” blade Yojumbo? humungo? Yosupersize? Thatsaknifebo? Yoplaidbo?

Just got through using my aus10 Mayhem on the cutting board. I was cutting up heads of cabbages . My wife started with spider chef and I took over with mayhem on splitting first one.
Overall it performs well on large jobs. The angles and belly work well for slicing as well as chopping. I only smoothed over the sharp exterior edges, everything else was perfect. My only gripe with large cold steel was the tri ad lock. This is now a perfect large folder. Pic for comparison.

The triad lock is one of my favorite. What I meant was as I get older it's an absolute pain in the butt to disengage without 2 hands. :zany

It actually does quite well as a pocket chef knife. The edge and blade geometry do quite well for food prep in a pinch. One of my goals for the handle mod was so it would be better for use on the cutting board when employed as a camp chef knife. So far so good. I can’t wait to get the spyderco hole put in to add extra fidget factor. This is the safest, fidgetable XL folder I have

Nice job! How did you drill that hole? What bit, etc?

I used a diamond bit set with a 6mm shaft like you would find in a dremel set with my Makita drill. You can find youtube videos on how to do it. Took about an hour. I also added jimping which makes front flipping easier and the jimping can catch the top of my pocket so I can deploy it like an Emerson wave. Spydie flicking this beast is a trip. Slow roll, wrist flick or depressing the atlas lock and swinging it with a bit of wrist are the safest deployment methods I have found. It is so worth having a Spydie hole there for me.
