Do you have a Bali-Yo and do/can you regularly do tricks? Is it a satisfying fidget experience?
I have one, but haven't really learned to do anything with it...and in my experience it doesn't really work great while writing. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something. That's why I'm asking...
I want to try one but i can never remember to throw one in the cart when i buy a knife. I'll get one eventually.

Looks like BladeHQ went back to the old website. It might be temporary but I'm not a fan of the new one. The old one was one of the few to let you load 100 per page... That was nice... The endless scroll seems to be the new trend that I'm not sure anybody asked for.

Thankfully I've never cared for BHQ besides when they drop an exclusive. No rewards points, taxes...no thanks!

I almost always carry a blade over 3.1 inches. Usually 3.5 or bigger. When I do carry a knife under 3.1 it is usually my second knife.

I have a Bali-Yo and only know a couple different ways to flip it open and closed. I keep it on my desk at home and pick it up every once in awhile. Maybe one of these days I'll learn some more tricks

-I don't do a lot of shopping from BladeHQ, unless they are the only ones with what I'm looking for...
-Yeah, I can just flip the Bali-Yo open and closed a couple ways, but nothing super fluid, and it gets old quickly, haha! I'm sure there are some people who can do some cool stuff though. I just don't hear much about the pens, I wonder who is buying them.
-I carry a blade over 3.1" about 30% of the time...I've always got a couple under 3" on me (either Air or Cadet) & Ladybug + EDC. 3 blades is definitely overkill but...well, maybe I need to reassess. LOL!

ATS-34 steel, it makes me nervous buying such old school steel.
Is it any good?
I bought some C48GP Tim Wegner Folding Knives ATS-34 Blade & C49GP wergner Jr ‘s
And feel some buyers remorse, on the steel if I deside to keep one and sell the rest

Don't know why ATS-34 gets such bad press. It is the Japanese counterpart to American 154CM

I wouldn’t regret acquiring any Spyderco Tim Wegner knives. I own one I bought over 20 years ago, in ATS-34, and it’s a great knife. Spyderco had good ATS-34.
I think a lot depends with ATS-34, especially the heat treat. My first Benchmade I got in the late ‘90s was an AFCK in ATS-34, and I had to send it back to BM, because the heat treat was terrible. It felt as hard as glass and could not be sharpened. BM sent me a replacement knife, also in ATS-34, and it was fine.

I wish there was a tactful way to discuss my dislike of my favorite knife company doing business with (censored). Because at it's heart it is a deeply political discussion. But one I feel like we should be having.

Is Spyderco your favorite knife company?

Fortunately we have Sal's good judgement and objectivity to rely on.
