what about a byrd wings slipit with titanium scales/bolsters and polished g10, but rebranded as spyderco with salt steels?

this is the best looking of the dyad style knives, in my opinion, and would look even better dressed up a little more and made as a salt.

Sure they could do a Byrd version of the legendary Dyad model. But I would much rather see another official Spyderco model similar to the C-44 model ( the big one). I know a lot of guys want to see another Dyad Jr.. But for me I need a full sized blade for the wide array of cutting chores I usually encounter.

I'm sure hoping that Spyderco hasn't abandoned any future plans for another double bladed folder. Like I said earlier the C-44 Dyad would be a great blade to do a Salt Series version of. The only other blade I desperately would be a TEMPERANCE 1 model. But if I had a choice I would take the C-44 Dyad first.

ImageIf it a Salt version would ever come to be a reality. I would like to see the PE blade the same as the SE . Sorry for being repetitive but thought illustration of blades might help discussion. The Wings slip joint is another good example provided by LB . MG2

i'm not asking for a byrd... i'm saying it would be cool to see a spyderco version of this byrd made at a better quality and with better materials like the uptern.

Let’s not forget that the Uptern is still made in China and uses 8Cr13MoV blade steel. Is that the type of upgraded Byrd you’re interested in?

I haven’t read the whole thread, I apologize if I’m repeating anyone but Sal has said in the past that Eric was working on a compression lock version of a double bladed folder.

Yes , also read about the compression lock Dyad . Sounds interesting just curious about thickness of handle , though it may not even be an issue . MG2

yeah... that's not the kind of upgrade i was thinking about. :rofl

i was thinking ti scales and bolsters with polished g10 and salt steel blades. i was thinking slipit, but i'd be down for comp locks too.

the reason i brought up the byrd is really that i like the overall design better than the rest of the dyads. i like the symmetry of the blades and handle, as well as the profile when closed.

I want H1 on the SE and LC200 on the PE. Why not?

Spyderco needs a web programmer to work their magic so any forum post that mentions a knife model name automatically links that word to the store search results for that model, with mouseover showing a preview of the first result. Half the time I open a thread then another tab to search the store to see what is even being talked about.

A full-sized lightweight dyad would be great. I have the lightweight Jr, and like it, but it's too small to really make full use of the serrated blade, and the G10 / steel-liners dyad is too heavy.

Salt-grade in LC200N or Magnacut even better. No need for a blade coating.
