Many times something in my collection becomes a gift to someone special in my life. At times like these, I like the recipient to have the full spyderco experience, and that includes sliding it out of the box and slipping it out of the bubble wrap.
So yeah, I keep mine. Easier to wrap a box than a knife.

I keep the boxes for just about everything I buy. It's amazing how much the boxes can be worth when it comes to collectible items.

Once I start using a knife I'll give the box to collectors who actually want/need them. Otherwise they are just taking up space..

I typically throw the box in the trash as soon as I remove the knife. I understand that having the box can affect resale value but I never really sell any of my knives. I give knives away on a fairly regular basis to keep the collection down to a manageable size but not having the box has never presented any issues there. Never had anyone turn down a free knife because it didn't come with the box. :p

I just read this after I posted my response. Sounds like you give em away like I do but you are much more thoughtful about it! :D

I keep the boxes, usually. However, if it is a knife I have used over and over, what's the point? I do keep a record of the born on date.

I have so far, but I don't have many and haven't resold any yet. But I'm glad to hear all the opinions on how my fellow Spydie-holics handle it!

I gave a few knives away. Gifting a knife in a box creates a little mystery. You know it is a Spyderco, but which one...

I throw them all
I've never sold a Spyderco, and the boxes take so much space... :o
