I would buy one, or a Sage 2/Chaparral. A Chaparral with a Reeve Integral Lock.

To piggyback on dplafoil's hybrid, how bout a Techno/Positron/Hap40Delica hybrid - contoured CF plus Ti for the lockside, flipper, w/ HAP40 blade steel. Boom.

I said a while back that I'd love a Dragonfly with the Manix 2 lock. I think it would make for the perfect "fidgeters" knife, especially in an office setting, not intimidating and small enough to flick around and put away quickly and discreetly if need be.

I still want to see a G-10 "S" with a solid blade. If they could keep the weight anywhere near the original hollowed out to heck/aluminum weight, I think it would carry really well.

Really, anything smallish with a compression lock would be a winner to me.

Maybe some smaller liner locks, too. What is currently the smallest, liner lock? Not just length, but the blade spine to handle spine when closed distance, too. The Tenacious series seems like 1.5-2" wide in pocket.

When I got the Native 5, I said that I would like to see the Dragonfly with the N5 lock back and a blade a bit thicker, handle too. Not as big as the Techno but something between.

Or a Dragonfly shape but built like a Techno :D

The handle of the Jumpmaster, with the blade of the Temperance. Offered in H1, and SE only. Of course there might have to be minor changes to accommodate the two, but those two things for the most part. I like the nice sleek handle on the Jumpmaster with the all out utility of the Temperance.

I'm completely with you on this Lance.

I was actually picturing this type of design in my mind the other day! A Paramilitary or Military with FRN handle and a version with an H1 blade.

UKPK and Chaparral: take the XHP, the textured G10/CF scales and the mid lock from the Chap and make it the same size and shape as an original G10 UKPK (in Taichung or Golden).

As great as the Caly 3 is, this combo would kick it right out of my pocket ;)

I'm relatively new to this, and it's very nitpicky, but I'd combine the ergos of the Sage 1 handle with the S110V blade from the Native 5. As far as the lock goes, I guess the Compression lock would be my 1st choice, but I like the liner lock and the Native 5 back lock just fine...
I'm a big fan of the Native 5, but the Sage 1 ergos are absolutely perfect for my hand. The Native is really close.

Whoa man, that sounds amazing. Now you have me wondering just how much material I can grind off my RL and get the handle close to that shape. I doubt it would work with a liner lock though. I'd just like to see more knives with blades like the RL.

Hey Mike, glad you chimed in on this thread. I am a huge fan of the handle ergonomics of the Yojimbo 2. I would love to see that handle (or one as similar as possible) fitted with a more edc friendly blade. Maybe even a modified wharncliffe? I would be all over that.

I'll throw in with Deacon on the humpless Kiwi 4 FFG blade mingled with the classic jigged bone handles and bolsters of the original Kiwi....I also find the added length of the Kiwi 4 more useful for me...

As for other natural handle choices, check out some of the covers GEC offers on their classic slippys...A bolstered Kiwi 4 in red stag, or soup bone, or paulo santo, or ....or.....or.... :D :D :D

I'd really like an R2 blade made out of Cruwear/PD#1 in an Endura grip and lock. The shape may need tuning to make things work but it's the general idea anyways. I've always enjoyed the way the R2 slices, sharpens ( free hand) and just feels. Spyderco's leaf shaped blades have become reference standard for me over the last couple of decades and I miss the design when I carry others. I used to think a pocket hnife needed a clip or drop point when I was younger.

If I needed to I could probably take one Spyderco and make it last the rest of my life. I hope I never have to though. :)
