If you want, I could look around at the seconds sale in November for a Manix for you. IIRC, hollow ground Manixes (PE and CE) were $35. I think that the S110V ones were $50, and I didn't see any other lighteweights. There may have been some flat ground G10 Manixes, but I don't remember.

Also, I could pick up a Military for $50-75 ish.
I sent you a pm

They look to delicate at the tip for a work blade. For me anyway.

Not so easily slip up the blade, check out the old bradley thread on BF:

I will read through that post on bladeforums.

I'm going to try find a Bradley I can mess with to see if I care for it.

The blade steel is what's pushing me to try one.

I'm still unsure of the slip factor. Ill have to hold one and maybe use it a little before I buy one.

Absolutely loving my Crow2 at work. Not a very long blade but thick, (strong) yet flat ground so still a good slicer. I modded the blade shape so it's nice and comfortable while closed in hand, (great while driving pallet truck but don't want to put knife away). Really like the CTSBD1 steel too.
I don't know what I do wrong but I can't get a decent lasting edge on a Byrd. I've tried. I can sharpen everything from 420j2 to zdp189 but not a Byrd.

Have you tried the CTSBD1 yet? I find it very easy to sharpen. It holds a decent edge as well, not as lasting as some steels but for a work knife, (for me anyway) it's plenty good enough especially 'cause it can bump metal racking or concrete and if that happens I need to sharpen regardless of the steel. The Crow 2 is just a great little work knife if you don't need a long blade.

We should start a pool now on how long it takes him to carry the Harpy in combination with a Millie. I think it's a good possibility...especially in a work environment. SE Hawkbill and Millie combination is just so versatile for almost anything.

We'll see.

I carry a multitool or Swiss knife to back up my spyderco.

I doubt you'll see with em both often.

If you do I better be using them both.

I ordered a older vg10 harpy this evening.

I wanted tip down only. I don't like all the extra holes in stainless so I when i found a Old display shelf stock model like I wanted I bought it and it was a few bucks cheaper. :)

Its vg10 with the lock cut out.

Its matches my endura 2 besides the steel.

Now the wait.

For a work knife you cannot beat the good ol' Endura. If you break it, you are not out a lot of money. It has great traction, even when wet or greasy. Its that simple.

The Millie is a great knife but longer in blade than the OP's knife laws allow, if I remember correctly. Plus, if you break it, you are out the cost of three Enduras.

Millie is right at the four inch limit in his state.

Am I the only person in the world who finds the Bradley folder impossible to close one-handed? If you look at a scale with ease of closing at one end and lock strength at the other, the Bradley definitely falls much closer to the lock strength end than the sweet spot between the two. Just sayin'.

I will throw in a vote for the serrated Pacific Salt. Wonderful knife.
