I ordered a couple of these to give as gifts. They are a little bit gritty just before they close all the way.would you clean and lubricate them before you give them as gifts or just assume that they will wear in nicely over time.

I would definitely wash them and completely dry them, then lightly lube.
Seems I've read another thread elsewhere mentioning of the grit as well...
Going back to Caly.
