I'm sure I still have most of mine, but I will put other knives in them at times, and they get banged around some. Probably lost a couple. Not really looking for resale value here but sometimes I keep them (some at least) in their boxes.

I keep the boxes because everybody else does. When I got my first Spyderco (Endura pinned) I threw the box away. Now that I have a lot more knives I don't know if I would be keeping the boxes if I hadn't seen so many people mention how they keep the boxes. Also, when selling a knife it seems like still having the box might make or break someone's decision to get a knife or not. But if I were not to have seen all the comments about boxes I don't know if I'd be saving the boxes now or not. Even with many more knives that I've gone through. I don't keep them in the boxes. My knives are in a plastic box normally used for screws and small parts. You can move the little walls inside the box. BTW, I need another box. Mine if full. As someone who has traded and sold knives I will now always keep the boxes. But if I were only using every knife I bought I might have been throwing them away. So I'm saying the only reason I keep a box is for trading or selling value.

I do, but I don't really know why. I'm not a collector and I've only ever sold maybe 1-2 knives. Even so, I have most all of them.

I do so much trading over the past few years over at BF that I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've needed a factory box to go with the blade I traded or got in a trade. And I've had a lot of the good Spyder Brothers get them from me because they didn't have a box for a certain model.

I really keep anything I've got from Spyderco over the years. I've even got caps and T-Shirts of Spyderco's that I've had for over ten years. Not to mention the posters and other collectibles I've gotten since then. Myself being one of the few remaining Spyder-heads who owns and uses one of the old Galley V sharpening kits ought to tell you something :D

Those little knife box catalogs from 98 & 99 are really interesting because there are models listed and pictured in both of them that didn't get listed in any other catalogs.

The fixed blade boxes are interesting and much harder to find as well. I would say those are the ones that get thrown away the most by far. Also you don't see too many of the ladybug sized knife boxes either.
