Man, that handle looks all kinds of comfortable, not to mention cool. I hope that Spyderco produces more blade designs within this type of frame.

I want one, missed the original run, the bigger question is one or two, so many new models to choose from its hard.

I love the PPT. Even as unlefty friendly as it is, I love it. And I'm pretty much just not into the sprint. I'm not a fan of black blades. I see zero need or use for them...so I will likely pass. I'd rather find one of the original run and buy that.
The only way that I'm going to consider this one is if there is an easy way to get the coating off the blade...
I really would have much much preferred a steel sprint. Even if it was CTS-XHP or Elmax and not something crazy...

I'm not sure it would be easy, but I'm sure the coating can be removed.
For me, a steel sprint would have been better as well. But even before that, I'd have preferred an upgrade to the internals to Ti to lighten the knife.

Also not in hand, but this may help ... KelTec PF-9, GEC 3" Jack, and a set of keys for scale ...

I agree with some that voted for black liners. An upgraded steel too perhaps.

It seems that most of the interest is coming from those who missed out the first time. However, this whole thing has inspired me to carry the good ol PPT more this week, so it's had a positive outcome.
Lol, any chance of some in hand pics?
I definitely can, I just can't give you an ETA on them. :P
I'm on vacation tomorrow, so I should run into some spare time.

I love that they did a sprint, but the thibg that would have made this knife would have been Ti liners because its heavy for its size and an upgraded steel. Ill pass unfortunately

Well, Knife center has them up for pre-order @ $166.95

Anyone have any intel on how long after preorders start that the knife generally becomes available? ZT is what at the very least 6 months, is it the same with spyderco? Any intel on how many are being produced? I think that's one of the best looking spydie knives I've seen in awhile, excluding the Kumo, Slysz bowie, Bradley bowie and every single mule blade ever made. Sucks that the preorder started right after the holidays. Christmas may be the most wonderful time of the year, but January and February are the most broke time of the year
PS, Maclaren, thanks for the heads up!

Pre-order times can vary tremendously. It depends on what the original expectation on delivery is vs. when they arrive to spuderco and make it through QC.

The PPT is the most comfortable Spydie I have used, it just fits live a glove. The locking is crisp, the blade grind makes it a very good slicer, and the tip is reasonably strong. The only down side is the heft and weight. Though I am not a fan of black blades, I'm totally in for this sprint. I enjoy my satin PPT thoroughly.

So do you guys think its worth doing the pre-order or should one wait to see what others are retailing for? Also how fast do you think these will sell out?

I would not pre-order from KC on this one. I would guess you will have plenty of time to pick one up for a better price from many dealers. If this were a Para 2 sprint with super steel then yes, but I don't see this being a super hot sell-out sprint.

Agreed. This one should be available long enough to choose where to buy it from.

Good info. Thanx fellas. I just knew that KC has a price listed. I wandered whether it might come in a bit less at other shops.

If KC's listed MSRP of $259.99 is correct, the PPT should be available from several other dealers for closer to $145. If it's a slow seller, it may eventually even go for closer to $130. Cutlery Shoppe has a few sprints, two even from 2013 still available at 50% off right now.
