I carry tip down so that when I pull the knife from my pocket it is already in the exact position I will be holding it in. I pinch the top and draw and let the knife rotate into the ready position. I don't actually reach into my pocket at all to draw the knife and it is very natural for me. I would ask, Why would you want to carry tip down when you have to adjust your hand just to use the knife? For me tip down is far more natural and fluid and no matter how much I try I find tip up both awkward to draw and the clip uncomfortable in the hand. With tip up you have to reach deeper with your thumb on most knives to draw in the ready position and this only works for me with small knives like the dragonfly. Maybe the chaparral too but I have no experience with it. It is just a preference thing and really depends on your pants/pockets, your hand size and your personal preference. One thing I do know is that I prefer my knives to all be the same. I own only one tip up knife and if it wasn't so nice I wouldn't anymore. I have definitely thought about selling it. It is the sage3 and I can't reach deep enough comfortably to draw it with my thumb close enough to the hole.

I'm a big fan, and one that often rattles on about the benefits of these in general and my sincere desire to see a Spydie (not a BM!!) logo on one Spyderco offers as an alternative.

The hole design is quite elegant and practical, and matches the spydie hole in the blade.

AFAIK, the original spaceman has sold out his last run of clips, and is working on the next run. Get them they are worth every cent.

Just an FYI, you can replace the wire clips on the Manix2 Lightweights with the deep carry wire clip from the Sage1...

Are they Ti? Can I get a side shot to see how high up the stand from the clip?

They are Ti David. He is working on batches as we type this.

I just recently returned a Benchmade Griptilian HG and got a new Endura 4. Before I returned the Benchmade, I emailed customer service and they are sending me a few deep pocket clips. Will this clip work on my Endura?

If it does.. Let us know!! The screw spacing may be different.. John :)

That's a point worth considering "Holland" Because I constantly wonder what I can do for my pocketclips on my folders to make them less prone to getting snagged on stuff and end up losing the folder like I have on 2 occasions in the past 4 years or so.

My all time favorite pocket clip came on one of Spyderco's greatest specialty knives and I'm speaking of the immortal GUNTING model. That clip on that GUNTING was just absolutely superb and I never lost my Gunting out of my pocket because of the clip being snagged.

Yep!!! +2 John :)

There is merit to deep riders, mid, and shallow clips.

In the case of the Military, PM2 and Manix2 they are in the "EDC/Tactical" group and most people prefer a bit of handle to grip on the draw. Especially if those people have gloves on.

Love both knife makers ~ bitchen deep carry clip.
