Currently a dental assistant. I also have a small business I started about a year ago. I plan to retire from the job sector in about two years and only work for myself.

I started my adult life by joining the Coast Guard, my rate was Aviation Survivalman/Rescue Swimmer. When I got out, I became a police officer. Now I am a Lead Law Enforcement Instructor for a military contractor and I work with the Marine Corps.

I'm an adjunct lecturer at a local polytechnic teaching communication and business writing skills, and also work as a freelance sound engineer.

I do database conversions for a client management software company and work at home. Best job in the world..... :)

Yes, my parents are both music teachers and one of the first things they told me was NOT to become a music teacher, so I became a classroom teacher and mix music instead :Dxceptnl wrote:Sounds interesting!

Full-time student studying Tax Law with a major in Employment tax and international tax. Part-time employee as a junior tax advisor. I'd love to get a job at one of the major firms, but a REAL dream job for me is to be a military lawyer.. Maybe some day :)

I kick *** and chew bubble gum, and I'm typically out of bubble gum.

Used to build these, and do maintenance on them as well as rooftop sites. Now I'm back in school with an Exploration Information Technology diploma, and am currently getting a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Geographic Information Systems.

Self employed and working several careers at once. Its exhausting but gives me diversity in both income sources and work potential.

I've been working mostly in IT since graduating high school. The past few years I've been working in Unix administration and telecom (signaling system 7 switch work - all that metadata the NSA has been collecting? basically SS7 - most non-call non-data cell stuff like SMS, local number portability, setup/breakdown of calls, etc) and I like it. I'm getting a lot of Unix Engineer calls so I guess I'm on the threshold of being considered one. I've relocated recently to an area without a lot of IT and I am currently looking. Tough to get work I can physically perform (I can't stand or walk for more than a few hours before pain and weakness stop me) in the area that pays enough to be secure. I will work this out, and develop the side interests I have discussed with others (making music, knives, inventing, etc).. it will just take longer than I'd hoped.
I suspect adaptation will help. Looking to get into running automated manufacturing equipment, perhaps. A man in this field helped me out today, and there is a solid market for that here. Not to mention that getting to know the equipment will help with manufacturing my own ideas. Seems win-win.
