I'd be down for black hardware too. My Super Blue Caly looks odd, as the blade is dark but all the hardware shines.

For me, for whatever reason, I get the best edges I ever have out of CPM M4. That is rapidly becoming my criteria for "best" steel. If I have to think about corrosion (even a little bit) or have to sharpen it more frequently, that's okay if the end result is the kind of edge I get with M4. Now I'll freely admit, this may well be a statement of my sharpening skills or equipment, rather than a statement of steel properties. It could even be dumb luck or coincidence, but at this point it's where I am.

Easy to sharpen isn't really a performance criteria, that just means it's easy to sharpen.
But yeah M4 is easy to sharpen.
I was thinking more a long the lines of pure edge retention, but then most of those steels are somewhat harder to sharpen.
Steels like S110V, 10V, K294, K390....
