A Stretch heavyweight would be a VERY nice knife

Anything but pink but if it's superblue, I'd probably get one anyway. :D

I'd LOVE a G10 Super Blue Stretch....though perhaps thicker than the CF one which I find a bit too thin in hand, but since FRN is most likely given the model I'll force myself to like FRN for that blade.
Brown would be ok, any chance that it can be a darker brown Sal?
Or a nice charcoal type Grey would be nice too.

I know they aren't cheap, but KnivesShipFree still has 11 of them in stock. I love my CF Stretch, even though I also have a blue ZDP-189 FRN one.KardinalSyn wrote:The reason why I have been putting off buying the Stretch for a long time is the finger choil design and FRN handle. I missed the CF version. This thread has given me much food for thought. Thank you for doing what you do and doing it so well.
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

It would seem congruent that a Stretch in Super Blue should be blue, perhaps even a royal blue. That's in FRN, of course.

I want a brown FRN Stretch bad enough that I'd buy a SB one just to play Spyderco Lego with. :o

I agree. Once we establish that it is SB, I would take any color. Maroon or Charcoal or Navy Blue.... I'd even buy it if it was purple. This would be a great knife in any handle / color configuration. Micarta would really impress me, but that may be too much to wish for.The Deacon wrote:I want a brown FRN Stretch bad enough ...

Yeah, I was wondering about that....The Deacon wrote:I want a brown FRN Stretch bad enough that I'd buy a SB one just to play Spyderco Lego with. :o
Okay, Paul's in. Let's build this thing!
Really? The R doesn't have the Hunter style blade, which, IMO, defines the Stretch. I don't find them similar at all.Donut wrote:Jack, what do you think of the R sprint run? It is basically a heavy version of the Stretch.

FFG GB?  :confused:kbuzbee wrote:Even more so if you have Tom FFG it. I love that idea! Hmmm....

I don't know. I love the FFG grind but I'd rather have the hollow grind it now has I think. Looking at my GB I wonder if thinning the higher area of the blade would be advisable as a mod. Like most hollow grinds the GB is thinner behind the edge than it would be if Spyderco changed the blade to FFG. Having someone grind it into a FFG might make the blade too thin for the "idea" of the GB. That's how I picture it but I am really bad at picturing things that have been changed. I need to actually see it. But, a Spyderco produced FFG Gayle Bradley I'm sure would be a hit. That may not be ok with Mr. Bradley though. Have no idea. Would he have say-so in a decision like that? Have no idea again. :)

PS edit: Also, I like the appearance of the "lines" on the GB blade. This is just a cosmetic issue which is not as important as cutting performance of course but I think the blade appearance is one identifier of the knife. Thanks a lot Ken, you have me thinking about something that will probably never happen. :)
I know. I'd still want an origional as well.jackknifeh wrote:FFG GB?

Well, it's a Phoenix not a GB but maybe this helps? Kinda similar starting grinds.

I had the same questions but Tom did a fantastic job with it. I still have an un modded Phoenix too but when I carry one, it's this one.
Agreed, I think Gayle values the combination of refined edge and thicker spine. OTOH, the Air is FFG so who knows. Regardless, yes, I'm sure his input would carry significant weight in the design.jackknifeh wrote:But, a Spyderco produced FFG Gayle Bradley I'm sure would be a hit.
