Is there a Kiwi combination that you don't already have? or one you would want?

Don't want to hijack the Lava thread though. Still trying to find out if there is enough interest in a G-10 Lava, keeping in mind the cost would be much higher than Boker's Los Banos designs.

I honestly love just the regular SS version and would be more than happy with the larger version in SS. But an interesting wood would be nice...maybe something like palm? Or Bamboo?

Oh I completely understand it would cost more that the Boker CLB knives.
If it is around the same price as the Dodo-Yojimbo I would be all over it.

Hi SnooSnoo,

A larger model would be an all new model. We've have to begin from scratch.

Hey Sal,

Yes I know it would be new. But I am a big fan on the blade shape of the original, and the double choils are very comfortable. So if it were just made bigger I would be a happy guy. Though I would guess that keeping the choils about the same size would be the plan, so there would be more metal and therefore much heavier if it were just made bigger. I'd be happy with that as I like heavier knives and in an urban environment weight is of no consequence, but I know that a lot here don't like a knife to weigh much. So perhaps an all SS model won't happen...

But I would still like a wood scaled version. Maybe something with double bolsters that looks very traditional, but has a lock and the unique Kiwi blade. I think that would make for a very interesting combination of old and new.

I would definitely pay more dollars for a Lava with better grip than stainless, it's simply a more refined design than the Boker models. I've bought and given away dozen of the Boker models, I would want the Lava for myself.

I would have no problem paying a higher price for the lava. Its a very cool design and I would love to add it to my collection.

Understood Sal. Was just hoping perhaps AGR had revived the idea of an AGR Special in stag.

Regarding the G-10 Lava. There will always be a few folks with totally unrealistic expectations regarding cost. However, I doubt more than a handful would expect a price point similar to Chad's designs from Boker. I'm sure most of us would expect a price somewhere between the G-10 Dragonfly's and the Small Persian's, and interest level would depend to a large degree on where in that range it fell.

My concern is the CF Balance at $120ish caught a ton of grief. The Dodo domestic with g10 is about the same price.

I have no problem with paying more than $100 for a great LBK design but it seems mainstream shoppers do. Small doesn't and shouldn't mean cheap. I do think a g10 Lava could move. At least to justify a sprint.

Make it a hawkbill and well ;) .

AGR likes exclusives, but the minimum quantity requirements are often more than AGR can handle.

On the CLB, we're talking about a sprint.

I think a sprint run with g10 would sell without a problem. May I recommend peel ply g10?

A red G-10 Lava would be a killer EDC for me. I would like te see some more bright red G-10 knives

I'm asking an earnest question to clarify. Did you mean polished g10 or peel ply cf? The standard g10 is very similar in texture to peel ply CF.

I myself would prefer a somewhat grippy G10.

Gotcha so the standard checkerboard patterning? I agree :) .

I've mostly heard peel ply as a destination between carbon fiber which is the only reason I asked.
