I keep my boxes too. One shelf in my cupboard has all them boxes stacked. The other shelf has all the blades, lights and other gadgets.

On two instances, I have gifted my blades on a whim and it helped to have the box in mint condition.

Its funny we would protect items in a material that those items were meant to defeat.

I have a couple of display shelves that I keep my knives and flashlights on, I arrange their boxes in the back leaning against the wall. Documentation, manuals, accessories, or packaging that doesn't stand very well all go into a storage box. I'm not going to sell any of them but I tend to hang onto packaging for computer parts, etc for awhile then dispose of them when I spring clean.

I usually carve the box up into shreds after I slice up the little plastic bag. I guess I don't plan on selling anything for good money. I'm kind of into sprint Militaries, and I use the pi$$ out of em. Had to cut some medium heavy copper cable the other day, had nothing but a military and a rubber hammer. Tapped my S90V right through on the end of a 2x4

I bleed Spyders and I keep the boxes

Post by JD Spydo »

I have every box of every Spyder I've ever owned except for those I traded away and the recipient wanted the box.

I also have many Spyderco boxes that 2 great Spyder Brothers sent to me as a gratuity some time back.

I also have a ton of Spyderco collectibles. For instance how many of you folks have an official Spyderco "mouse pad" ?????

I even keep the boxes of my Spyders that I have for "users".

I also have a knock-out collection of Spyderco catalogs.

When they take blood samples from me at the hospital or Doctor's office they see many blood cells that look like "SPYDIE" under the microscope  :D

Thats a good idea! :D Get the large Spyder-bag and put the bar code label slipped in with the knife in its spot :) I kept mine so far...

I keep the boxes too. After a while they begin to take up a lot of space so I pack them into a larger box for storage in a closet.

Exactly this. And I like it for storage, easy on the eye and although they all get used, they dont get scratches because of bumping into each other.

I guess I'm in the minority here. I trash the boxes. They're a waste of space to me. All of my knives get carried and used to some extent, so I'm not what I would call a collector. If I ever bought a knife that I knew was going to be a safe queen, then I'd keep the box.

I keep all the boxes for storage purposes as well as for convenience if I want to sell or trade my Spyders. :D
