I gotta say, it's not my favorite Spyderco knife, but I've gotten more use (and abuse) out of my serrated s30v Millie than anything else. It's truly a work horse for me. It's what I put in my pocket whenever I'm working around the house or out in the yard.

I've used it to cut 2" roots when digging post holes, opening bags of cement, pruning, cutting up card board boxes, carving pumpkins, cutting up steaks from the grill and apples for snacks. Of course I wash it before food prepping! Every once in a while I take it completely apart, clean it and lube it, and it's smooth as can be.

My ZDP Endura does the heavy lifting.

My Para 1 SE works the hardest, with my Caly 3 PE G-10 a close second.

a big plus one on the spyderhawk. i live in s.c. it gets really hot and humid here. that h1 is really great when sweat is a way of life. the hawkbill is great for opening packaging, slicing up vegetables and cleaning fish. all this with no rust. another big benefit is it scares the absolute crap out of sheeple. :D

Salt 1 SE. I'm a PE guy, but that thing works and works in the kitchen I work in (I just used the word work a lot :p ). Tons of cardboard and opening and cutting up whatever. I wish I had a pic - the blade scratches make for a unique finish when there's enough of them. The clip looks good, too with the worn edges of the paint. I love it.

- best wishes, Jazz.

Tdog wrote:If you don't mind my asking, where in the heck did you come across a Lignum Vitae Stretch? Most people don't have a clue as to the history, what, or where "Lignum Vitae" is. My mom lives in Lower Matecumbe so I have been to the islands where there are still some remaining trees. That's some hard and beautiful wood. You are fortunate to have this. Do you have a picture of the knife? Would love to see it. Thanks
There are still a few places that sell real Lignum Vitae, but it is very expensive. Most of the Lignum Vitae on the market now is the Argentine variety, Palo Santo. The wood is very hard, heavy and dense, and smells great as you work it.
It actually makes you light headed if you get any of the dust in your lungs.
It is one of the "ironwoods" and is more dense than water.

The Delica is probably the most practical, purpose driven :spyder: . I love it. Right up there with it though is my Manix 2. Can't wait to get my Para2 and run it through some tasks

I carried an Endura and Delica SS PE together for a long time. Now my Manix 2 sees the most service.

Funny, a friend asked me what knife I was carrying tonight at work(I am a bartender), and I showed him my Tenacious. the first thing he said was "wow, that looks like a great work knife." The second thing he said was, "****, you keep that thing wicked sharp!" ;) He was carrying a $350+ Protech OTF auto(not sure which model), and mentioned how sometimes he doesn't even want to use it, because it was so expensive. I told him the Tenacious. goes for around $30, and his eyes lit up! I'm pretty sure he'll be ordering one tomorrow! I do carry my Stretch (ZDP version) a lot as well, but the Tenacious is my true workhorse To me, it just screams "use me"!

My two Para 1s. I do anything with them that I used to do with my Buck 110s and 112s and they've never failed. One is a garage beater that my wife and sister use, the other is my digi-cam work knife that goes to the warehouse with me. They just won't die.

AFAIC, the Para 1s are still my choice of the two models, even though I have my Para 2 in my pocket today.

Dale

My Spyderco Salt 1, with a Krein FFG treatment. I've cut vegetables, boxes and even carpet with it. Still has solid lock up and has been easy to touch up and keep sharp. Great work knife.
