Anyone else losing interest?

Lately, I've only been interested in sprint runs as far as Spyderco's go. I love the unique colors and added performance due to the typically upgraded steel choices.
I'm absolutely in love with my Earth Brown Military, I couldn't have gotten a more perfect specimen. CTS-XHP is supposedly a great steel, although I don't have much personal experience with it, and the brown G10 has such a classy look to it.
Although I have been loving the "earthy" colors of the recent sprints, I'm very much looking forward to the blue M390 Para 2 and the CF M390 Military coming soon. I can't wait to experience some Spyderco flat-ground M390 goodness. Who wouldn't be excited about this?

You can experience it a lot sooner in the currently available (last time I checked) M390 mule, but I think they will be gone soon. Someone just tested the hardness on one of them and it turned out to be 60.9 and 61.2 on the two test samples that were done which is great news, because that means that Spyderco's other M390 blades will be at least ~61 HRC, if not better.

Lost interest. Regained it. Lost it. Regained it. Lost it. Regained it. Got into traditional slipjoints, then into fixed blades, then back to Spyderco, then back to traditionals, then back to Spyderco.
Have come to the conclusion that I just like knives. :D

I lose interest frequently... strangely enough, always seems to coincide with an increase interest in some firearm or another... even curiouser, when I get the firearm, my interest in knives seems to pick back up. It is a horribly expensive cycle :p .
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

40 new Spyderco knives in 9 months, nope, no interest lost there.

A lot of good opinions in the previous pages :)
I was up to 30 or 35 folders and cut it down to a dozen, since then number has risen slightly to about 15. Some of the overflow will be gifted. Everyone's own reasons for owning or not owning Spydercos will be different :) I've browsed other brands, but have never gotten as excited as Spyderco makes me for stuff within my price range and material prerequisites for the price.
Balance, A wierd looking knife, is my favorite for tough close quarter tough cutting. That beautiful little knife makes me feel safe cutting stuff I wouldn't feel safe cutting with a razor sharp Delica.
I'll always go for function before looks although my first Spyderco, green Chinese Lum, was bought on looks alone :o

It is similar with me. Right now I am saving for an Aimpoint. After that I will probably get a Para 2 or Endura. I have to juggle all of my interests to not get bored with them.Jordan wrote:I lose interest frequently... strangely enough, always seems to coincide with an increase interest in some firearm or another... even curiouser, when I get the firearm, my interest in knives seems to pick back up.
