Para 2 Black, Digicam are OK here.

Both of mine (Black/Satin, Digicam/Satin) were very fast upon initial receipt, but both had to be oiled, after which all was well.
Mineral oil on the black one (got kind of gummy inside) and Ballistol followed by WD-40 on the Digicam. I had to wash away the Ballistol due to the nasty smell. Let it air dry, then hit it with some WD-40. No problems now.
Neither one has an off-center blade, either.
I still think that the black one deploys a tad bit faster, but neither open as quickly as my Manix 2 Orange, which is still my fastest opening blade--even faster than the AXIS Assist :) (...and that's all I'm gonna say 'bout that.)

I've had two S90V Para 2's. The first one had a lock so sticky that it was nearly impossible to operate. Spyderco customer service replaced it for me.
The second one (the replacement) was good when I first got it, but now it has a sticky lockbar. Somehow, breaking it in has had a negative effect. Also, the detent is too strong, but it doesn't bother me as much as the sticky lockbar.

Mine (CF/S90V) is perfect. It opens and closes smoothly. The lockbar is only a trifle sticky, but I like that resistance. The detent is perfect.

Right now, I think I am being over critical. I am going to watch some more replies. It seems like the reaction to this knife is 95% or more positive.
My Manix 2s are all over the place - some won't clamp no matter how tight the pivot screw and therefore have (very minimal in all cases) lateral play; some can be cranked down tight and are perfect; some can be clamped if you over-tighten the pivot screw. It's all ok, especially at this price point. I agree that it is easy to be over-critical here. :D :spyder:

knifecenter has it for like 2 weeks. yes a few bucks more but it gets in your hands asap. kc shipping is $6.95 vs cs's $8.95.
why is jeff's usps box $8.95 to ship yet when i sell someone something in a normal usps box its like $3.57? always wondered that. cause i mean his prices are the best i know of!

That's probably why he can give better prices.

It's as perfect a knife as I've ever owned...and it gets better every day as it breaks in...

I would like to change my vote. I just purchased a DLC black G-10 Para 2 and it is much easier to close than the first one I have. Absolutely no issues with this one at all. Not that there were any issues with the first one. It's just a bit difficult to dis-engage the lock. Not a problem in my book.
