Welcome!

The Caly 3 is a great knife. There are some minor physical differences (mostly with the finger choil) but it is definitely a locking UKPK. Also definitely worth picking up any of it's several versions.

Having just received an FRN UKPK and being very disappointed, I had to vote for the Manix 2.

I'd love to hear Paul's take on the FRN UKPK as well.

With 75 vote in the Manix2 led by 3. With 100 votes in the UKPK leads by 6.

I am in no way trying to be a jerk but has spyderco even confirmed a forum knife this year?

Last year at this time it was already in the works...

Again, not trying to be an anus....

No, Sal encouraged us to talk about it earlier in the year but any number of factors might delay the forum knife even assuming there was ever an intent to produce one. I've thought about changing the title to the "next forum knife", but given that we are engaged in wishful thinking the distinction didn't seem that important.

IMO, this conversation helps rather than hinders the process for the next forum knife. Some disagree.

It seems like we are at a deadlock again.

Maybe we should just settle on a Baliyo? :p

Thanks Sequimite for the info.

I agree that this helps rather than hurts.

Its alot better to be proactive than to just sit here saying "O man, I wish spyderco does a knife this year"

If it stays close perhaps we should develop two separate preferences by selecting colors for both and, in the case of the UKPK, blade style and type of steel. One of the reasons I switched my vote to the UKPK was the possibility of raising the price in order to get a really unique steel given that the base price is so low to start.

I think it was actually CTS-20CP... BD1 is already planned for the UKPK IIRC.
