The last time I went camping was in 1987. I live on a flat plain where there wouldn't be any trees if people didn't plant them, water them and feed them. You can probably guess just how much use I have for a Bushcraft blade. I bought two just to help Sal recoup a portion of his costs.

I bought one because I consider $90.00 a great price for an O-1 blade mated with such an ergonomically correct handle. I will now keep my CC# in the closet and use the 2nd.

Oh forgot to ask, are these marked with the usual 2nd notch?

Take one to work some time. They aren't going to do one thing as specialized as , say, a S90V Millie, but they do a lot of things pretty well. There's not a lot they aren't competent at. They are stout as ****, easy to sharpen, and comfortable as heck.

Yeah, No Evil devil worshipping Vanadium carbides, but it still holds it's own. :)

Yes, they are 2nd's and therefore marked with a notch, like all other 2nd's.

Joe, I can get away with carrying a Mule at work because it fits entirely inside the ruler pocket of my carpenter jeans, thus becoming a "pocket knife". I have a hunch this one is a bit longer than that which will put it on the wrong side of our "no weapons" policy in my boss's eyes.

On these seconds, does anyone know if the handle still comes wrapped in the oil filled bag, or has it been removed?

I wonder if the 'oil bag' would be an issue for Canada Customs when shipping the knife into Canada. Also, could the bag leak during long-term storage, or does it have to be removed as soon as you receive the knife?

Well, the guy signing the checks needs to be kept happy. I understand that all to well after working in a prison. Yep, It's a little bigger, but it's not really that big. It's kind of a shame as it's about as comfortable as a cutting implement gets for hard use. The tool steel is great for tough stuff too, as you know. It wouldn't be your best bet at the high wear/abrasion stuff though.

Nope, but our unit had the road sign plant, and the paint plant back in the 80's and early 90's. Also a certified school, and Voc tech training school.They did have inmates of a lower custody level there to support a local motor pool, and the SHP unit outside the fences of course. One of our guys with under 30 days on his sentence stole a HP cruiser and led a chase up and into Virginia one time.

They were kept there but it was a felon only Medium/close unit but we also kept Max there due to bed shortages in the system.Everything but death row, which is all grouped together at a special unit elsewhere . I was a guard at this unit until it was closed down and replaced. 15 years or thereabouts.

January 2014 will be my 30 year mark with the state.

BTW I used to live up in the sandhills in Nebraska, on the other side of your state. The town at that time had around 150 citizens. It was about 70 miles north of North Platte. You could drive up from North Platte and never see another car, and trees in only 2 spots. What a place!

The Bushcraft I ordered has been shipped. Will get it next week sometime. Will wait to see how the handle is before asking the best way to take care of it.

Anyone know how many of these were produced? Just curious.

There were more than 500 available online when they came back up after the first online batch was gone, and they reserved some for telephone orders and the factory outlet.

1000-1200 wouldn't surprise me, but we would have to wait for Sal or Taz to know for sure.

My Bushie is on the way, and I do hope the handle is as beautifus as they were on some of the pics shown here....

Mine arrived this morning. They have been removed from the bags and cleaned.

Nice. I'm glad they are cleaned off. Mine won't arrive until Thur , but it's my own fault for living so far away from Golden.
