Digi-camo for me. I have yet to see that on any other popular production folders. Definitely cool.

If Digi-Camo I would want something sublime.....like the USN Toxic Green or a blue/grey.

I voted translucent.

Each person would have to choose between using his/her vote as a +1 on a color or a -1 on a color.

Thoughts and other proposals?
That would be a good and useful idea. I voted for my top pick (orange), but I thought hard about foliage green and translucent. I bet other people could have had two or three first choices, too. Thanks for running these polls - good stuff.

Indeed. The Manix 2 is my favorite Spyder now. And I really like the translucent greenish of the Leafstorm.

Thank you Skwim, you are doing a good job of this, & I hope that it leads to another highly succesfull forum knife that the majority of us can enjoy.

I'm encouraged to see the higher number of votes on this poll compared to the first poll after the same elapsed time. It seems that most of the supporters of Cat, UKPK and Native are still with us.

I was at the Hoh Rain Forest all day and - surprise - got soaked.

Almost up to the number of votes in the first poll. I'm surprised at the results, although I'm don't know what I was expecting.

I am too, I was expecting much more orange haha. I hope the actual knife turns out to be translucent, that would be really cool. I think your idea of having a final poll where we can use our votes as a plus or as a minus is a good idea. Thanks for organizing these polls for us!

Not sure this is the best place to put this but I saw it mentioned.

I'm pretty sure the lock on the blue Manix 2 is not black and is just the picture. If you look hard you can see it looks translucent. Black doesn't usually transmit light.

Also, are these polls just wishful thinking as to what the forum knife will be? Has Sal said he will back what the forum members come up with?

I would think that not all the combinations that are thought up would be feasible for one reason or another.

I've been following these two threads and the intent is just to take a poll of what folks would like. Only Sal and team know what they have in mind (if they've even thought about it). But from my perspective, he can produce whatever he chooses and I'd bet it's a winner like everything else he and team touch.

With that said, I think the Forum polls have identified some real possibilities to consider. And it's fun thinking about them. Who knows, maybe this will even drive some future designs to come.

I think these polls are great, instead of having to figure out what the prevailing opinions are from one guy saying "I want a red Manix 2 with S35VN for a forum knife" it gives a better idea of what people actually want. Plus I have a feeling a lot of the lurkers vote in these polls as well.

I would think that not all the combinations that are thought up would be feasible for one reason or another.
The possibility of a forum knife and what model, color, etc., it should be will get discussed in any event. After Sal wrote the following I thought about approaching the discussion in a different and hopefully constructive manner.
Looks to me like there are two questions; 1) what knife?

FRN does offer lower price and unique color. Expensive materials and special insets, like the shell on the Military model rellly pumps up the cost and limits those that can afford it.

2) distribution that is fair for all forumites. After all it is a forum knife.

Perhaps the discussion at this time should be focused on what model is desired?

sal
So we will go through this exercise and at the end the forum knife that the majority of the forum voters select may or may not be made. It's an experiment and we'll have to wait to see how it turns out.

It's hard to find good pictures of the Natural G-10; most look gray or too yellow. Here's a good picture of a Chokwe with a natural scale that Jose did:

Keep the votes coming. No color is anywhere close to 50% and there will be a run off.

Everytime I handle my Leafstorm, I admire the scale and its translucency...
