EDC & Hardware for survival

Yeah I kind of put my foot in my mouth with that one :o Actually I owned a couple of Benchmades before I ever got my first Spyder. Shortly after that I got my first Surefire flashlight too.
THE SPYDER BIT ME And I SAW THE LIGHT!! :D
But I always usually start out at the bottom and work my way up. But it's very, very rare when you don't see me carrying a Spyder anymore. I even keep a Spyder in my night clothes :D
I'm telling you that with this impending political and economic breakdown I'm now always carrying some kind of fire starting block or kit with me most of the time now. I always have one of my Surefire flashlights and usually keep an extreme beater blade with me too. I have an old Case fixed blade I keep in my vehicle for really nasty jobs.
I'm very much survival oriented and have been for about the past 24 months. I encourage everyone to find a multi-tool of their liking. Other than the Spyderench I particularly like the Victorinox line of Swiss Tools for emergency gear. No one can have too much hardware anymore. :spyder:

That is a whole other thread you should start, JD.

I just got the Le Hook key chain gadget. Most of the other stuff is just to show how large it is. Most Le Hooks are alot smaller. I recently found a source of multi-size ones.

Knives of course always vary...
Lately for my larger blade it has been a Manix 2 either my s90v, s30v, or ctsxhp. Or my SnG.
For my smaller blade I typically carry my Strider RG CC DC PT, or dodo :D

Trying to fit as much crap into my pockets as possible, while keeping it comfortable and low profile is my favourite hobby. So I carry a bunch of crap, which I use surprisingly often.
My EDC is:
-Gun (S&W M&P 9mm right now)
-2 modern folders, one clipped to my front right pocket and another to my front left pocket.
-1 traditional folder or small pocket fixed blade. I just love them, I need some carbon steel and natural handle material to fondle.
-A SAK or Leatherman Juice. I go for medium SAK models, since I always keep a multitool in my backpack I don't need a super thick one.
-Light. Fenix LD01
-Boring stuff (mobile phone, wallet, keys, ID).
That's what I carry on my person. In my backpack I always have a first aid kit, a small survival kit (which I use to repair stuff quite often), a larger torch and extra batteries and a multitool (usually a SwissTool Spirit with the ratchet and extra bits, sometimes a Charge TTI). Through the years I've refined my kits to be as small and light as possible while still retaining usefulness.

No pictures, because I'm tired and haven't learned the trick to taking good knife shots yet.
Between my jacket, bag and pants, I had the following at work last night:
- Watch: Some Traser model; trits on all hands and numbers.
- Keys: Including a CPR mask and a stainless edition Fenix LD01 light.
- Other lights: Nightcore D10, Zebralight H50, Eagletac P100A2 (I work nights, need lots of light!)
- Knives: byrd G-10 PE Crossbill, Victorinox Compact, ESEE Izula, GEC/Tidioute #26 sleeveboard.
- Other stuff: Wallet, phone, SAR pager, a few pens, exam gloves, etc.
Stock pic of the GEC, a lovely little slipjoint.

Great Eastern is the only knife company that outstrips Spyderco for sheer number of knives I want... not as many completely different models, but a huge variety of handle scales. Lots of short runs of different colors and jigs of bone, funky swirly acrylics, various woods, stag, and more. It's like they enjoy tormenting me.

Here's a pic, but not quite my EDC. Everything's hard to see but cbs getting camera.
Wallet, E71, Seiko Chronograph watch, Keys, Sketchbook and Knife
Replace the RC4 with an FG Urban, G10 D'Fly, SS Kiwi or Pink Mini Grip (shock horror)
There is a keychain light and a lighter in my bag, so don't freak out all you survival nuts out there =p
