I would have to say the top 2009 Spydercos were:
1 - Warrior
2 - Gayle Bradley
3 - Manix 2
4 - Purple Forum Native

Top one for me was the FRN Stretch. the runners up would be H1 Spyderhawk, LH Mili and the ladybug Hawkbill.

Best 2009 release, Manix 2 G10/154CM - a beast that's priced to use, with perfect ergos.
Best purchase new to me in 2009, leaf-shaped UK in fg, perfect knife for slacks.

All my Spyderco knives were obtained in 2009. Which, you would think, might make things easy.
But no.
So I'm going waffle and say a tie between the Stretch FRN and orange Military.

My vote goes to the gayle bradley as well.
The taiwanese maker has really impressed me.
I can't say enough about the deep high hollow grind
on this piece.I hope to see more blades with this grind.

A high, deep hollow grind makes for an excellent slicer, and the grind on my Bradley definately made me change my mind about regrinding it to a FFG. If I thin mine out it will stay a hollow grind. I have had my Caly Jr ZDP reground to a high hollow grind with an ultra thin edge and itcuts like you can't believe, and my Krein customs with their full height hollow grinds are great cutters as well. A well done deep hollow grind can make people see that a FFG is a great compromise between great slicing ability and strength, but a high, deep hollow grind like on the Bradley can be a tremendous slicer, even better at shallow slicing than a FFG, while actually adding to the looks as well IMO. A lower hollow grind can be good at very shallow slicing but not so good at medium depth slices and bad at full depth slices, I much prefer a FFG to those and have had a few reground to FFG. That high hollow grind on the Bradley is more like my Krein customs, as it is high enough to excel in pretty much all types of cutting, and it adds interesting lines to the blade as well. Thin FFG's are probably my favorite, but my Bradley's grind is a close second.

Meerkat!

Tough one! I love my new Meerkat, but that's still the 'new knife high' talking. Models that come to mind (that I own) are the Manix 2, Forum Native, G10 Dragonfly, Stretch 2 FRN ZDP and the G10 Poliwog. I think the Urban (leaf blade) is my favorite spydie of 2009, it's logged the most pocket time of all the aforementioned spydies and I still like it a lot.
