I'd have to think long and hard before buying a Sprint run Yojimbo with a compression lock.

But I would snap up a Sprint run Yojimbo with a ball lock in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the cool drafts, they look awesome!

I would grab one immediately, especially since I do not have the original.
I think that in a combat situation (not my intended use, I want to stress), the regular ball lock would be safer, reducing the risk of accidentally disengaging the lock, because there is no single element of it protruding from the scales.
I have always been a great fan of the Comp Lock but now, given the choice, I would pick a BBL or CBBL anytime.

Though I love (and own) all knives designed by MJ, the Yo is my least favorite as far as my funtionality needs go. That being said, whatever it is, I'll buy at least one ASAP.

Thanks for your opinions! I have bought Yojimbos (black and blue). I thing it will be nice change. I thought that because they watch every day, along with Dodos on my desk ;-).

I'm in. Also, let me know if Eric does another Dodo. Put me down for that as well.
I think if the Dodo came in ex-large, it would give the civilian a run for the scariest folding knife in existence throne.

I think a caged ball lock would be excellent. The OP's drawings on page 1 look great (even like the colour). I'd love a run of Yojimbo's to be done as it is a knife I would really like to own and my chances of getting an NIB are pretty slim at the moment.

Wouldn't mind seeing a new pocketclip along with the new lock, either. The D4/E4 clip would work well for me.

I missed out on the Yojimbo. I eventually saw one and held it at a store. The Yo also seem more or less like a box cutter. I went home and thought about it and the next day I went to get it and yep, it was GONE. When the new Yo comes out, I'm getting one whether it is comp lock, BBL, or CBL.

Those as well as the original drawings are very very impressive. What program did you use, I'm curious?
