Thanks to our local farmer's market I have become addicted to PB&J made with jalapeno+raspberry jam! Spicy sweet goodness!

jalopeno/raspberry jam is good on chicken fingers also.

Hmm, may have to try that. But you haven't lived till you try peanut butter, bacon, and avocado. :cool: Tastes best on a toasted sesame seed bagel. :D

Actually, my favorite use for it is mixed with a stone ground mustard and some sautéed onions to make a sauce for pork tenderloin.

Mmmmm, that sounds great! I'll admit to having had peanut butter and bacon, but I have never had the creative vision to make the leap to avocado. I'll have to give that a try.

I didn't create the hole from a nail nick. I had learned to thumb open my Buck 110 and Gerber folding hunters. I was looking for a way to dupicate that action in a safer more user friedly action. Sal, The round hole is functional. The case is over at that point. Your own literature explains the operation and benifits of the round hole. The courts are very clear that functional features can't be protected by trademarks.
An automobile grill falls under the catagory of "trade dress" (overall shape or package).
In pocket knife evolution we still go from nick to depression to round hole. The round hole was one single handed leap for mankind.

Sal, sometimes I keep extra peanut butter in my Paramilitary opening hole. It's good when you need a quick snack. :D

Ah, screw it,

The shape of a coke bottle is functional as well, but other shapes are also functional, and one shape does not have a clear and overwhelming advantage over another. That's what makes both the shape of the Coke bottle and that of the Spyderhole, to be registered as trademarks. Other knife companies have claimed the superiority of the shape hole they use. Benchmade, before the decided to STEAL the round hole opener, claimed the shape they were using was better. So much for the fiunctional superiority argument. Those who need to assuage their consciences and desperately want to believe that purchasing a Benchmade with a round hole is any different from purchasing one of the Chinese knockoffs everyone complains about should at least realize that there are those of us who view the two actions as equally reprehensible.

I think anyone who has not tried the natural style peanut butter (The kind with the oil on top. mix it before your first use and store in the fridge to keep from separating again) owes it to themselves. The only two ingredients are peanuts and most of the time salt. I prefer the organic chunky variety.

Also, natural pb is the way to go. Forget about the hydrogenated crap they put in most pb. Nature had it right, all I want in my PB is peanuts.

Mmmmmmmmm, peanut butter and banana sandwich. The secret ingredient, though (withhold judgement until you try it) is to put a little mayo on it. It gives it a perfect amount tanginess. Time to go find the bananas.....
