I just upgraded from a regular Nokia flip phone to an I Phone. Guys, I have progressed some, but I am far from computer savvy. The
I phone was much easier for me to pick up and use. I can take care of business and respond to emails on the road.

I have yet to really understand everything on the phone. It serves it's purpose for me. :D

I put "other' because I have the Verizon Voyager. It is over a year old but I still like it. I have an ipod touch and really love it, but could not see paying a phone company for the services on it. Primarily the apps and music/video because with the touch all that is there, You just use wifi to connect to the internet which is restricting, but free ;)

I have a blackberry bold and love it, my favorite phone so far
its a piece of cake to use, my emails come through on it, i have blackberry messenger (like IRC but free and for blackberrys only)
it also has google maps, and can link to my laptop via bluetooth so my laptop can access the internet anywhere, providing i have phone coverage

the only problem i have with it, is there isnt a way to switch the emails off, without switching the whole phone off

I just change profiles for that. For everyday work, I have all email notifications on vibrate so I know they are coming in. When Im on vacation, I have a 'vacation' profile that turns off any kind of email notification. The only way I know if if I open up the email - which I try not to.

iPhone...

My Dear Friends,

I received an iPhone from my wife for my recent 40th birthday. I started fiddling around with it, determining which apps I needed, and uploaded some music.

I turned my desktop PC off three days ago and haven't missed it. No kidding.

The iPhone gives me everything I want and nothing that I don't. If I have cell service or WiFi available I have internet access, email, etc. I can check email faster on the iPhone than on my PC, and I am not tied to the house or the office.

Do I need an iPhone? I suppose not - no more than any of us need the internet, cell phones, or other technology. We did quite well for years without any of this, but it can be very convenient nevertheless.

It can also be quite a lot of fun. The FourTrack program turns the iPhone into a perfectly functional four-track recording device for musicians - the $9.99 application replaces several hundred dollars worth of additional hardware.

iPhone for me, thank you.

Never going back. The Blackberry, to me, just does not compare. The iphone is so much better at web surfing, email, text messaging, has better layout & design...need I go on? :D

I have an Audiovox phone (do they even make them anymore?), I got it as a gift from my wife about 4 years ago, it has a phone and if I really want I can text with it. Up until recently I've been on-call for work for probably most of the time I've had my cell. I hate cell phones with a passion, I cringe when I hear one ring. I've been interrupted from enjoying the company of my son and wife so many times because some idiot thought it was cool to call me at 10:00pm to come pump out their sewage tank. Really couldn't it wait until the next day?? I love how everyone expects to call your cell any time and get a hold of you. I told my current workplace to just forget getting my cell as I will never answer it anyway. The whole texting thing is totally insane. What kind of idiot feels the need to sit and type with their thumbs on a number pad some small cryptic message to a friend?? I've already been in one accident where the other driver was talking on the cell phone and too caught up in her little fantasy world to see me, don't get me started on that. My advice is to ditch the cell, life will be a lot more enjoyable.

We are issued BBs at work for yeeeeears. I've had a number of different models.

As a phone - sucks.
As a browser - much, much, much worse than that.
Camera - poor.
Media player - bad.
Voice recorder - ok, only used it once.

The only thing it does half well is serve as an email reader.

Oh, and not inconsiderably: it's tough as a hockey puck.

I would never buy one with my own money.

I've had the BB Tour since this summer, after my Moto Q died. In comparison to the Windows Mobile OS on the Moto Q, the BB OS has been much more stable. It seems to have a more "integrated" feel than the Q did, and thus far I've been quite happy with it. My wife just got the BB Storm 2 and really enjoys it, but I can't stand not having keys for tactile feedback. Perhaps when true haptic feedback is perfected, I'll branch out.
