So far I think your a nice bloke. Lets keep it that way :p ;)

...Anyway I don't think we should get into an Aussie verse US type discussion where we pick on each others stuff. It would be like shoooting fish in a bowl for us Aussies :D :D :D :D

What time is it over there ?? Shouldn't you be in bed??
AWWWW.......Schucks!! I was just trying to have a little fun!! ;) :D

Ladybug FRN SE

This little bugger was what got me hooked on Spyderco. My first and still my constant carry even here in our strictly controlled EDC knife rules. Partly because it is so tiny a keychain knife and socialy acceptable enough, annd partly due to the fact that this small knife is very capable.

Salt I

Salt I FRN PE

Essentially a waterproof rust resistant Delica, with H1 bladesteel. I carry it on my person to deal with cutting the wetter materials like fruits, sandwiches etc...with no fear that of it tarnishing, and if I wash it out later no fear the thing will rust.

The H1 logo stamp on the balde in front of the Spyderhole always reminds me of Formula 1 racing. And this bladesteel certainly is the Fomula1 of anti-rusting cutting tools :D

Caly III & its closest cousins from Denmark and the UK.

The Caly III is one of the best knives I have handled, and a deserved recipient of so many positive comments from around the Spyderco fraternity.

Ukpk & Dkpk

UKPK & DKPK

The UK Pen Knife and the Denmark Pen Knife. Two slipjoint blades (non-locking) with a very solid detent....possibly too solid as it makes me uneasy when closing the things ! I'm sure with some use they would loosen up slightly to make it more enjoyable.

These 2 are a variation on the Caly III, both with G10 handles, but with CPMS30V bladesteel rather than the CalyIII's VG10. The most visually obvious trait that the DKPK has over the UKPK is the chamfered Spyderhole, which makes opening it safely one handed quite difficult (but not impossible). Spyderdrop on the DKPK sorts out the one-handed opening once you get a good grip on the chamfered hole.

thanks for the great pics Dan.....
the Almite Copilot is a great office edc...
the UKPK is one of my faves too, but the blade length can draw attention where I work.... I love the beefy, linerless G10 handles on the UKPK.... when the blade is opened its hard to believe its a slipjoint with the amount of tension holding it open....

My friend, you are on the right path  I see the American cousins from the Caly III but not the Japanese nobel-brother ;)

I like your playing with depth of field in your pics a lot!

The CF cousin was late on the plane and he said in the next couple of months he will be joining in the festivities at my place. So he said hopefully I can buy his plane ticket from USPS ;)

No skill in the photography on my part. I love composing the shots, but only use what available lighting I have, whether sunlight, filtered sunlight, desk lamp, or partially direct sunlight. Haven't bothered Photoshopping as yet to remove dust or unsightly blemishes....can't be bothered :p

Thanks all, glad you like them shots. (there are more to come...stay tuned)

Native I inlaid models

Native I Blue Mosaic & Root Beer inlays

Classic Native I folder pimped up with G10 handles and inlays of Root Beer (CE blade config), and Blue Mosaic (PE blade config)

These 2 look really good with decent light. The depth of the inlays really shine and from different angles they look totally different.

Root Beer inlay goes from a flat brown colour to a holographic orange shimmer. Similarly the Blue Mosaic one goes from a flattish blue/ black colour to an almost azure-like blue shell.

Hi Fairlane,

Thanks for your support. You would have to agree with me that in terms of Natives, these 2 inlaid ones are probably the 'prettiest' of them all.

I really like the Root Beer (mkes me thirsty too :p ), but the Blue Mosaic is also very nice. I was hoping Spyderco/ Sal would commission somone to do a Green/ Paua inlay..... Now that would be a really awesome piece :)

Cheers
Dan

(stay tuned...more Native goodness to come....soon'ish)

One of the best small blades I've handled. It seems a lot larger than it actually is. The grip is the surest for a stainless steel handle, due mainly to the deep choils and curved belly at the end of the handle.

Could I ask a special request for some photos of your all black fully serrated native 2? :o

All Black serrated Native I you mean?

Of course. Gimme some time and I will reshoot it in better lighting conditions. As I am awaiting a couple of more rarer Natives, I might hold off and do them a ll at once ;)
