I've wanted a Chevy Blazer since I was 17, so I'm driving my dream car. :)
It's a '91, the last year they made 'em with a removable top. This one I've owned for 10+ years now. I'll never, ever, sell it.

Outlaw that is a nice truck man. In my opinion those were the best years of those Blazers/Suburbans. They were still big and old school. I don't like the new ones. :)

It's funny too how I meet all these young people these days that think a Blazer is a little small thing like a GMC Jimmy.

The tuned 914s are devils on the short slalom tracks..

Not the prettiest thing made in Stuttgart though
I agree with you there NoFair! I would rather have the 912 but 914s are cheep, mid engined, and the top comes off. Under the skin they are a genuine glorified vw, but then again most Porsches are! :) How many Porsche people do we have here anyway?

Thanks David,
GM should have never named their S-10 SUV... "Blazer"
It caused a lot of confusion at parts counters everywhere  :p

BTW... we must be getting old :o

Currently we have 4 vehicles (the most I have ever owned) I primarily drive a 96 GMC Suburban, We just upgraded my wife to a 06 Toyota 4Runner Limited (Which I to borrow sometimes). When the weather is good I ride a 2000 V-star 1100 Classic (Not really mine but I store/Ride it for a buddy who lives in Montana and travels most of the year. And currently for Sale is our 91 Mustang GT Convertible.

Ah, looks like we do have some Porsche buffs on here. Obviously I can't drive yet, but my dad has some fairly nice ones. The street car is a 1992 911 Twin Turbo (eat your hearts out :D ) with like 8,000 miles on it. It's also got an upgraded computer, no mufflers, the works. Next come the racecars. I know, no F***ing way right? My dad and brothers race in PCA (Porsche Club of America) and several other organizations, and so will I once I'm allowed too. We currently have 5 air cooled 993 cup cars, because what we do is buy them crashed for no money at all, rebuild them, turn out seriously fast lap times and get alot of 1st places, then sell them for alot higher. I'll post pics sometime if you guys want me to.

And not to crush anyone's dreams, but 914's are great daily drivers and short slalom cars, but on stuff like Road Atlanta, you'll get killed. My dad is friends with a guy who works at Jim Ellis that races his 914, and he honestly hasn't moved up in the ranking system because his car just can't keep up.

My dream car is a Porsche 962, they may not be street legal but they are the coolest prototype cars around. My STREET dream car would be a Subaru Impreza WRX STi, my friend owns one and it freaking FLIES. (Anyone ever needs ANY help with porsches, shoot me a PM.)

Here in Norway the lack of mufflers would lose you your plates on a 911 turbo, pretty quickly :D

I think there was a version of the 962 that was road legal so it still could be the ultimate street car ;)

On the shorter twisty tracks the tuned older Porsches still do well, but the newer ones dominate whenever top speeds are higher.

The 912s, older 911s and 914s lack power to stay with the big boys even when fully kitted out.

I'd love a 993 Turbo S or a GT2, but I'd have to sell the house to get one and it is cold sleeping in the car in January :D

Sverre

Sorry for the big pic

The newer Porsches may have the edge on top speed but will they keep going as long as the older aircooled cars? Time will tell. For sure build quality is not as good.

Sleeping in a car in January IS cold but trying to drive a house on a mountain road with the clumsy handling and road holding is no fun ;)

Oh yes, I'm another Porsche nut.

I currently drive a 2001.5 silver Volkswagon Passat.

As for what I would like to drive, I never really think about it as I've never been a "car person." I'll start thinking about it only when I absolutely have to. I'm very ignorant about the various makes and models of cars produced each year. One thing is for sure, though -- my next car will be a "step down" from the Passat, as I'm not into cars enough to warrant spending that much on a new car.

No dreams crushed here. :) I am looking for a fun cheep aircooled daily/summer driver. The 914 does that well but there is no way 76 ponys are going to kick a 911. As I said a 914 is not my dream car by far! But, money dictates these things more than dreams....... (904 baby!) or maybe just a street legal 917, why not? :p

Currently alternating between my '95 New Yorker and the '88 Lincoln Town Car my girlfriend gave me. (She won the car and $5000 in a drawing Christmas before last. She kept the cash and gave me the car :D ). I hardly ever drive my '82 GMC one ton dual any more. Still comes in handy once in a while, though.

I miss my Impala. 1962 Impala 2 door hardtop with estimated 475 HP 409 dual quad and Muncie Rockcrusher 4 speed. Only car I've ever had that would literally smoke the tires at 60 mph. :D Only problem would be finding someplace to buy 100 octane leaded fuel. That and the 5 mpg highway milage
