Dear Friends,

This is quite an interesting thread!

Stainless Harpy SE. What else could be expected from Dr. Lecter?

"The rest is history," you say? I could not have said it better myself... :D

When I was in the Air Force I bought an Endura from the Base Exchange when I returned stateside after a two year tour in the UK. It was in '97 or '98. Been a Spyderco fan ever since.

My first Spyderco was an Endura. I purchased it on April 26, 1996. I carried it for many years, was bit by it once, to the tune of $200.00 in stiches and finally retired it for another blade in 2001. In August 2005 my best friend (and first knife instructor) passsed away from cancer at 38. I placed that Endura in his pocket at the service so he would have one from me on him.

SE oldstyle (molded FRN clip) Endura. Black, then red, then the illusive OD.
Waiting, along with everyone else, for the Endura-4 (and another run of Tasmans, dang those went fast! :( ).

:D My first Spyderco was an Endura, fully serrated. I have lost count of the number of times that knife got me out of trouble or looked after me! It is now under the ownership of my parents as a gift. That knife single handedly removed and cut up all the carpets in my parents house in one go! The tip is a little rounded now, but nothing I could not fix if my parents even noticed!

I am aiming to get a fully serrated and plain edge Endura 4 as my next knives, waved if possible as a nod to my first ever Spydie!

My very first was a Ladybug. I was amazed by the cutting power that rests in such a tiny knife. Still have it in good condition, attached to my keychain.

Original (AUS8) SE Remote Release. For years I went everywhere with it shackled to my backpack shoulder strap.

I still have it, but I've retired it. Great idea; great knife.

I can't wait to get the updated version.

take care...d

A PE Native.

First was a Peter Herbst. Big mistake, not very lefty friendly. But I was impressed enough by the ease of opening the round hole provided to keep trying. A PE, S30V Native was the first that got carried, after that I was hooked.
