That WAS the knife I had!!!!
It was the very, exact, specific, same, particular one!
That knife was definately privately customized. The photo that I posted above is the same knife!

I will have to remember to avoid Yeti Man on Bladeforums.
wow man, that was foul language he used !!! I'm sorry to hear that he made such a big fuss about it. This in itself is also a sign that he is not totally truthfull. If it indeed was a one of a kind factory R&D Spyderco he should have kept the knife for himself, treasure it, and sold it in a few years for mucho $. Now he has not only smudged his own name on Ebay, but also in this forum. I feel sorry for the problems u suffered from this transaction. I would report this to ebay and see what they will do about it.
Untill then, hang loose, and remember that the opposite thing also happened on Bladeforums. A guy asked for a balisong he found on Ebay, it was totally underpriced and very rare. Some people in the balisong forum thought it was a good idea to contact the seller and tell him about the thru value of the knife, and tried to get him to sell it to them. The seller withdrew and the honest man lost his very rare balisong. Now someone is the owner of a rare balisong he earned on the back of a poor sole. Remember that we all scan ebay for rare Spyderco's and always check if there is a stirr about one. I think it's ok if u bid on a genuine object, as long as u play it fair and square. Untill then have a lot of interresting buys on ebay( just don't buy the ones i want !!! :D ) greetz

Response...
I gotta ring in here...though I wish I could ding in here. Yeti would be the first person dinged out of this forum if we had the feature right now. However, I can find forgiveness for him if God can though it would be pretty hard considering how he tried to intimidate, lie, manipulate, and slander someone new to collecting Spyderco knives among other things. I think along the lines of ethics and just good code of conduct he is not someone who supports those who wish to collect Spydercos or probably any other items for that matter. I've never known a true collector or enthuaist who would not to to impart knowledge, aid, and even part with a knife to help someone along in their endeavor to join the field of interest. I've tried this course of action though have been burned a few times in an attempt (ie. JediKnight86 on BF). However, I am happy to say I've never tried to burn someone even in the slightest way with knives, coins, or anything else I've sold or traded on ebay, BF, or anywhere else for that matter. Basically, I'm disheartened to see someone with the lack of integrity trying to justify or even cover his actions. He is just plain stupid and a coward! I am glad to see that we have a new member to the forum that did not let this endeavor stop him from joining us spydie junkies. WELCOME HOME!
BTW, I would like to ask Joyce or Sal if either of them knows about a prototype dubbed 'Ocelot' its a Wegner type knife with Green/Black G10 handle with 'paw prints' with engraving on the blade of 'Spyderco Prototype' and #ed 029. Can you tell me if this is just a nice mod wegner or a geniune prototype or any information you have if any would be greatly appreciated...I do own this knife and bought it through USN from a guy in Keller, Texas. Either way I like the knife and did not just purchase it thinking it was some rare Spyderco Prototype. Let me know...Thanks! I can provide pics here or through email. Just send me a PM or what not if you want a peek at it. Thanks! :p

Kudzu,I remember that knife from a couple years ago and as far as I know it is a real proto type.IIRC it was sold on Ebay the first time around.I think I saw posted somewhere that the Tracker (ie Ocalot) is still in the works.
I am sure someone will chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

Hello Kudzu,
I have a pair of those knives. I'm looking at them right now. One is black, one green. The black one says "Prototype 007" on the blade. The green one says "015" only. Both blades say "Wegner Design", and the tangs are stamped "BG42 USA".
I was lucky to pick one up at the "Old" SFO when I hit it at a May sale. The second was bought on ebay a couple of years ago. The story I got was that they were handmade by Vince Ford at the Spyderco shop, and production was around 15-20.
I'd hang onto the knife. Even if a new one comes out, it won't be a proto, won't be hand built and probably won't be BG42.
Hope that helps.

J SMITH,
Not that there aren't a LOT guys named of "J Smith" in the world.
But, a "J Smith" in Tennessee that likes Spydercos. How many of those could there be.
Do the initials "LPSAR" mean anything to you?
If they do; we worked in the mud and blood together.
And, no this is not JF or SK.
Let me know.
