I'm not very creative, I'm afraid. My name is Diaconescu Alexandru (and you were saying that "Schwarzennegger" is difficult to pronounce) so there's where my nickname comes from.

I have a second - dare I say my principle - obsession, blades of a different kind: Rollerblades. When I first started, 8 years ago, my room mate would call be "**** on blades"...mainly because I did **** to myself, when I went out on inline skates...can be a pretty bloody obsession to have - and people think that knives are dangerous ;-). In addition, it is similar to my favorite comic character: Hobbes from Calvin and Hobbes.

My full name of Magnoliophyta Dicotyledoneae Metachlamydeae Rubiales Rubiaceae Coffea robusta is too difficult for most folks to say and too time consuming for me too write so I hang with my nickname of java. I go with tankajava on the SCUBA Board forum. My affinity for the rich dark bean soup is well known and it gets strange double takes at Starbucks when they call my triple shot breve ready.....

Started using this nick, and the avatar I use with it on some of the other forums, when I was playing cards online. It is the result an interest in WW II aircraft combined with a web search that, while it did not produce the desired result, led me to a very interesting place.
Many years ago, I had a friend whose father had been stationed in England with the U.S. Air Force during WWII and had decorated some of the aircraft with the paintings known as 'Nose Art'. His kids had talked of putting a book together based on the photos he had of his artwork. One day I got the bright idea one day that they might have put some of them out on the web, and went searching. While I failed to turn up any of his work, I did stumble across the website of Historic Wings magazine. Their website contains a large section on WWII nose art that offer some truly beautiful examples of this art form. "The Deacon" struck my fancy. It had originally been painted on the nose of a P-47 Thunderbolt by a gentleman named Don Allen. Thankfully, Mr. Allen kept copies of his artworks and re-created them for us to enjoy, as the originals were lost when the aircraft they decorated were scrapped after the war. It suits me, because I do tend to get "preachy" at times, well, ok, a lot of the time.

Hey all,
Wotan, also sometimes spelled Odin is the principal deity of my faith Asastru, also known as "Odinism". Wotan is also called the "Allfather", He is my personal deity, the god who comes to me in my dreams. To Honor him I've adopted the name "Wotanson". My Wife and friends know me as Rob.
Odin, guide my sword to eternal victory!

The name Xibalba came to me from a philosophy/religion/mythology class I took way back in my undergraduate days. "Xibalba" is the Mayan name for their mythological land of the dead, where the lords of the underworld reside.
I used to keep reptiles, and had a beautiful albino corn snake, who I also named Xibalba. Everywhere I go I try to make that my screen name, but interestingly enough, even a name as obsure as this is often taken on other webforums.
BTW - for the other Star Wars fans out there: Did you notice in Episode I the alien pod pilot that Anakin raced against was named "Sebulba"? It sounds identical, and I wonder if it is a reference to Xibalba?
Hmmm....

Hiya, Mike,
Remind me not to debate the Popol Vuh when you are about. I missed the Xibalba connection entirely. Now if you'd gone with Kulkulkan (that's Quetzalcoatl to you northern Toltecs and Aztecs). And herpetology to boot? Xibalba sounds like an apt name for a Golden Eyelash viper from Central America but I'm not sure I'd keep em as a pet.
Most excellent to see you're about this morning. Maybe you can nudge a few northern neighbors like Kahz of Krazy Kurtis and get their input here.

Long story short since it's been posted here 5-6 times already...
it's from my days of playing quake 1 and 2 online, back when they were new. Same group everytime(I played on HEAT.net), and we hunted as a pack. I hid in the shadows with the biggest gun and any extra ammo I could find.
I've played a lot of online games, and keep with the same set of names... VampyreWolf, Phoenix(same group, could die and come back as many times as I had time for), Khalandros, RedBaron(from military flight sims... 17hrs straight, shot down once about 1 mile from base when I was going back to rearm... got rank for time, upgrade for kills... 17hrs got me major and from a camel to an f-14 with aim-54a's...)... and Wolfe.

Well, a while back my dad needed to get rid of our old dryer, Since my friend and I were going shooting that day, we decides that it would be a fun target for his AR-15. We set it up out in the woods, stood back a healthy distance, and proceded to autograph it. after a hundred or so rounds, we noticed the dryer was smoking. Apon closer inspection we deduced that it was the 20+years of lint buildup ignited by the .223 rounds passing though the metal. Then the paint on the inside of the tumbler caught fire. It had to be the coolest thing I had ever seen inside a dryer. While we were gazing into the fire, Jon mentioned that it was a "Chasam of fire" And I said "Pyrochasam!" After that I have used Pyrochazm because (I think) it looks better spelled that way. I use it for everything, E-mail, usernames for fourms, chat, you name it. It has nothing to do with any of my numerous nicnames or my real name

Hi There!
As most the most of you, I also have been using this nickname for many years...
It is japanese and I got it from my very good friend and Martial Arts partner, 'Mr Blonde'. When we started training he was my Sempai, my 'Teacher' or 'the older one'. Kohai stands for 'the student' or 'the younger one'. It has a special meaning for me, as I think that I am always learning new things every day, I consider myself as a student all the time, learning from other people who have more experience in than I...

Kohai shouldn't be so modest, he can be quite nasty on the tatami! BTW, this "newbie" already practiced his MBC skills on Mr. Glesser in Amsterdam, or was it the other way around ?
My name is from my favorite movie of all time "Reservoir Dogs", the Mr. Blonde character knows a couple of nasty knife tricks . Besides, it's a cool sounding (nick)name!
