I found a dead ~24ft leguminous tree that had been consumed from inside by termites. It was in two ~12ft sections but the thinner one wasn’t heavy enough at one end to stay on my cart, so I decided to chop it in half and stack it with my machete. Except my machete was several hundred feet away on my Forest School site 🤦🏼‍♂️. What I did have was my trusty Jumpmaster 2…

Turns out you can do some pretty serious chopping with a little JM2! +500 pocket chainsaw points 🤪

For reference, here it is next to the tool I should have brought along from the start.

Nice work Al! The Jumpmaster has been on my list for a while. 👍

That's certainly using your knife! Fun trying things you know are going to be more difficult than it should be, but just to test out the tool and see how it goes anyways.

I cannot recommend it highly enough - it is a fantastic little knife! I’m fairly sure I would have snapped one of my fancy pants custom Elmax knives doing the same. What really blew my mind was that afterwards it was still extremely sharp and zero edge damage.

Very cool post. Thank you for sharing this. I’d get another Temp 1 in CRUWEAR while you can.

I like my Temp 1 Cruwear SE, but it hardly ever gets used as the JM2 does everything it does, plus it never rusts and the handle fits under clothing better for a discreet carry around people.

😂 yeah, it’s on the uncomfortable side of sweaty. Shifted 7 tonnes of woodchip and a 600kg log by hand today. Safe to say I need a sit down now, but my JM2 just laughs at the conditions and makes rude jokes about the weather’s mum.

I made long narrow sheets of sandpaper, to fit on a granite surface plate, to flatten the sole of a hand plane.

I cut sandpaper sheets in sections with a beater knife, and glued it to 2x A4 printer paper sheets, to made several long and narrow sheets of sandpaper. The Manix trimmed the paper edges, and inadvertently sliced through a few rough edges. The edge is now dull, especially the tip, but no damage.

Used my Manix 2 to clean the lead posts and battery cables to my two modified golf carts. Put new bigger batteries on these this morning.

Group 94 AGM batteries are almost 300 bucks each. Unbelievable how expensive these are nowadays. Sure I could have bought a cheaper battery, but I much rather buy these platinum AGM's and get rid of all the acid puking out the vented lids...

The Manix 2 scaped all the lead to a Shiney finish without a problem what so ever. Just have to love this little Manix 2 for small projects like this...

Used my 15v Para 3 to cut some blackberry vines growing through the fence in my back yard. Forgot to wipe of the blade afterwards and it stained the blade where fhe vine juice was. Oops!

Looks great to me, I love a blade with character. I wish my VG-10 would patina.

Don't get me wrong, all my knives are users. Even the rare or expensive ones. You should see my Manix2 Maxamet. Lol, that one has seen some use. I was just a little bummed about the Para 3 since I only had it for 2 days when I stained it. Give me a few months and I'm sure it'll have some new marks and stains. :winking-tongue

Not an oops. It’s a knife with a cool patina.
