Spyderco provides a 50% off MSRP discount through their OPFocus program. As Phaust predicted, this will likely sell out soon because of that.

KnifeCenter did a Black Friday deal/preorder that some of us went (fell) for, so it's been "ordered" for about a month and a half. I'm just anxious to try out SE MagnaCut because my experience so far with the steel has been fantastic. And honestly my knife-life has been pretty boring lately and I need something interesting to happen.

Really jealous, can't wait for mine. If you get around to sharpening it let me know if it matches up closer to the 40 or 30 slots on the Sharpmaker.

I checked the new price database. I wonder if the Knives&Tools new Spyderco prices are accurate or very inflated. Doesn't seem like a big jump.
And I checked, carrying them might have taken some inflation too but Import didn't change.

MDR it's not like our local prices aren't perma-inflated versus the USA anyway

And we'll have the privilege to buy this knife at a premium price... something like six months after its release, as usual

Your post made me check. Today they sent me the same "This is a friendly note to let you know that your order is still in process." email that they've been sending me every 2 or 3 weeks for just over the year since I pre-ordered. Hope Spyderco gets those PE blades cranked out and shipped to the retailers soon.
